Official Thread - Wizards at Knicks (11/4/14)

Post#1 » by pineappleheadindc » Tue Nov 4, 2014 2:22 am

.

Okay, getting some kind of thread up to talk about the game. FAH seems uninterested in actually following up on previous game threads after victories.

Since I got office work piled up, this quick and dirty thread will have to do. KNICKS FANS: Please find the Insults and Trolling thread as well and give your best shot at the Wizards board regulars.

Go Wizards!

The heck with all of you Luv-a-Bull haters. Our perennial good luck charms will lead YOUR Washington Wizards to victory. And Evadney says she has a "surprise" to give Melo.

Both teams come into the game 2-1. Should be a good one.

To talk about the game:

I'm interested to see how Randy uses Otto, both on offense and on D. Assuming the Truth decides to stay in this game instead of getting ejected again, I can see him taking Melo on D.

I've only seen this year's version of the Knicks last night vs Charlotte. To be honest, they play a nice brand of basketball. Last nights game NY vs CHA was really fun to watch.

X Factor = Garrett Temple.

Obviously, the key to victory is Pierce getting ejected and Otto beasting in the second half.

Pine you done goofed. This is the ultimate jinx thread...

Pierce on Melo worries me. Last time Ariza dominated him on the defensive end and was one of the key guys who got us that win. Hopefully Otto can provide some good production on the defensive end or I can see Melo going off.

Interesting stat I saw on NBAs power rankings:

The Knicks' defense hasn't been very good, but they shot well in wins over the Cavs and Hornets. Is the shooting sustainable, though? Just 21.6 percent of their shots have come from the restricted area, the lowest rate we've seen since the '03-04 Wolves (21.5 percent). The early version of the Triangle has produced a lot of jump shots.

Eye test tells me that the Wiz have been sub par at defending the PnP/jump shot, so hopefully we don't allow NY to get going from the perimeter.

Wall usually goes off in NY. They only have Larkins and Prig at pg and neither can stop Wall. They can put Shump on him but there p & r defense is horrible so even if he slows down Wall's scoring, I think John will find guys all night. I just dont think they matchup well with us especially if we have Wall, Porter, PP, Nene, and Gortat in down the stretch. Also, I think Hump or Dre are do for a good game and maybe Rice too. They have momentum and will be tough but I think we are too good for them right now and are a bad matchup even without Beal & Web

Monte, I wish you would edit. I am not trying to offend. Your gif seems like I have offended or angered you. I apologize.

The board is getting real PC. I have made fun of the Bulls cheerleaders and others have, too, for years. This is no longer fun. I won't comment on Bulls cheerleaders again. I wish they weren't in a Knicks thread. Good luck charm or not.

The Knicks have Larkins pushing the ball and hawking the passing lanes. Derrick Fisher seems to like to play a real deep bench. He keeps guys fresh while pushing the tempo. Carmelo Anthony playing unselfishly. The ball no longer sticks in his hands as it has with past Knicks teams. Amare Stoudemire just had 17 and 10. The triangle offense is featuring him in the post more.

It will be a good test to see how cohesive the Wizards are. They might not be favored to win this on the road.

Wall always goes off at MSG.

If Temple balls like last time, hitting his threes off JW kick outs, we'll be fine.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Oh my, oh my, oh my... We don't have Knicks killer Beal, pine posts some luv-a-strip pictures, what a mess. Yesterday I thought we have good chance at MSG.

Temple. From board says he sucks to X Factor all in a week.

So who to guard Melo. I don't think Otto can handle him. Melo would post him. Unless Nene and Gortat can zone him out of the paint and just use Otto on the perimeter.

I think we will see Glen get a few minutes covering him. This is what I see as Glen's best role for the team. Covering strong SFs and bringing the D. Using us a few fouls to keep Otto, Paul and other clean.

I expect Paul is on his first and he will start. Paul will also likely pick up a foul or two early.

Should be an interesting game. We need to pound them inside. Nene and Gortat early and often.

Yeah. FAH deserves a one week suspension if we lose and even if we don't, at least a day because we had to see Pins pictures.

Not good.

Wow NY dragged out the corpse of Samuel Dalembert. Not even wikipediaing it, but how is he not 40 by now?

This, Hands, is what's called a strawman. I never said he sucks. Nor did the board say that he's the X Factor. My posts ≠ the board's opinion. And any seeming consensus on among board members ≠ my opinion.

We're going to PnR them to death with Nene + Gortat, and Wall will get into the lane at will. As usual

This thread is an unholy abomination.

I really want to get our backup big situation under control. If Humphries' hand is still an issue, they need to keep him on the bench for a few weeks until he recovers. I don't know why Blair only has 4 minutes so far, but he needs to see more court time, hes not here to score or defend just get rebounds, which has been a weakness through 3 games. And hopefully Gooden can get back to scoring like he did last year.

Even joking about one week suspension isn't fun.

I miss Dat. I also feel tension I never felt before on this forum.

The rebounding has been pretty bad so far. They need to pick it up or they are going to lose some games they should win.

Not looking forward to seeing Melo against whoever.
