Player of the Game -- Wiz vs Cavs (11/21/14)

Nice win over a Cavs team still feeling their way around. Hey, they called Lebron for a travel -- I guess they rescinded the edict from the NBA front office that Bron couldn't be called for a travel. What do you know?

On to the nominees for player of the game:

Image

PG John Wall
28 points (12-20 fg, 1-4 3pts, 3-5 fts); 7 dimes, 6 boards, 4 steals, 4 turns, in 37 minutes.

Image

PF Nene Hilario
10 points (5-11 fg), 7 boards, 4 dimes, 1 turn in 28 minutes.

Image

SG Bradley Beal
12 points (5-10 fg, 2-2 3pts), 5 boards, 5 dimes, 3 steals, 4 turns in 32 minutes

Image

C Kevin Seraphin
12 points (5-11 fg, 2-4 ft), 6 boards, 1 dime, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 2 turns in 23 minutes

Image

Dion Waiters -- one half of the best backcourt in the NBA
2 points (1-7 fg, 0-4 3pts) in 22 minutes of play

OR -- please name your own player of the game in comments, below.

Johhny Max. These were the type of games he stunk up last year. He put his stamp on this one early. Really big time development from him.

Wall. But Serephin and Gortat really played with muscle tonight. And nene bullied Love. Beal was 100% from 3 and played 31 mins. Can only get better.

I didn't see Waiters in the options! I change my vote to that scrub.

Honorable mention to Kevin, who I'd have traded for table scraps yesterday.

Easily Wall. He's finally showing us what we knew he was capable of consistently.

On a side note, we only went to the line 9 times vs Cleveland's 29. Wtf?

1) Wall
2) Seraphin (WTF?! But seriously he played his ass off tonight)
3) Waiters + Irving (8/23 combined, 3 assists total)

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Refs were drunk this game and quite frankly riding that Cavs dick. Two plays the Cavs throw away the ball with no Wizard within the zipcode and they give the possession to the Cavs. :nonono:

Wall was definitely POTG. He absolutely dominated the 3rd quarter and put the Cavs away. I really liked Seraphin's defense though. He was great on his rotations and really battled for the rebounds despite his relatively paltry individual total. (Cleveland took a lot of jumpers with long rebounds.)

The nicest part of this win was that it was earned on the strength of our youngest players: Wall, Beal and Seraphin (and Porter, who wasn't great but wasn't bad either).

Obviously Wall was the POTG, but Seraphin was great.

Good discipline defensively going straight up which really limited his fouls. Offensively he was getting the ball deep in the post, which is great to see. Makes his black-hole nature better when he only needs to take a few dribbles for a high-percentage hook shot.

Wall punked Irving which was nice to see. Hopefully he can follow it up.

You still should.

Wall is POG.
