VOTE! Kevin Durant poll -- December, 2014

Post#1 » by fishercob » Fri Dec 12, 2014 8:54 pm

We've already talked about KD a ton, but I am curious as to how many people believe that Durant will actually be a Wizard. I think it will be interesting to take the board's temperature on the issue every few months. Try to answer as honestly as you can -- gun to your head, do you think the Wizards land Durant, or do you think one of the other 29 NBA teams do?

My guess is he remains in OKC, but I sure hope I am wrong. Please vote, and obviously feel free to discuss your reasons.

The main reason for Durant to switch IMO would be a much easier path to the finals, but maybe that changes over the next few years.

I think he'll be too old by 20016. Might even be dead by then.

My feeling all along is that he re-ups in OKC unless it goes bad there.

It's happening. Thought you guys were high...but it's too perfect. He'll be a Wizard. I'd stake miller31time's life on it.

I'm pretty confident that he will. In this era its acceptable for guys to move around and I think what that team was will never recover from losing Harden. They should have broken the bank to keep that team around. He'd have retired with that group of guys.

Its just a shadow of what it was there now though. Still successful, but its not the same fraternity of young up and comers. I think he'll be looking for new scenery come 2016.

How many years is enough in OKC if they haven't won a championship and have squandered talent in the interest of saving money. If we are as good next year as we are this year, and Durant has not won a championship, I think he bolts for DC.

Can you add two things to the poll ?

1) Who cares right now, Wizards are kicking ass

and

2) Merge with other Kevin Durant thread

Other than outright saying he is coming I don't know what else Durant could do to signal his intentions.

If you aren't interested in a given discussion, you could just.... you know.... not participate.

I voted no. I think KD is going to look around at his supporting cast in OKC and see Westbrook as a top 5 player, Ibaka in his peak years, and Adams coming on strong as a reliable center. He's going to see that and ask, why leave this to join DC?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I think we have at least a 51% chance. That means KD will realistically consider playing for #DC_RISING. The salesmanship in EG will be the key to closing the deal.

I read the Wizards are going to open a new state of the art training facility in DC for the players. That's great timing for KD to DC, is that another great EG idea?

Maybe KD will skip phase 2. It's a possibility.

I voted "yes" because the signs are pointing that way, the Wizards are trending upward and we're starting to get a reputation for being a place that's actually (*gulp*) desirable.
