Best chance for 50+ wins?

This is the best start I've seen this team have and I've been following the wizards since 2000.

The last time is was this excited about our chances was 04' 05', with arenas/hughes/jamison running the show. Those great players never got a 50 win season. History shows that our last 50 win season was the 78' 79' season where we won the eastern conference and then went on to lose to the Seattle Sonics in the finals.

So my question to those who have followed this great team for longer then I have, (although still early) where do you see this team ranked among the past teams you have seen? Is this the best chance for a 50 win season for the past 25 odd years?

I have been a Bullets/Wizards fan since 1979 and agree - this is the best start I have seen since around that time. Hope that we can keep it up and crush the 50-win plateau!

The Wizards need to play .500 ball going forward to win 46 games. 34-26 (.567) gets them to 50. Certainly doable.
After the next few games, the schedule is packed full of tough games through the end of January. There are some easy ones in there too -- and we'll need to TCB in those for sure.

We'll get to at least 50 unless Wall gets hurt. I predicted 54 before the season, I think we can get there with comfort.

- We did our job winning ten games in October/November

- The end of December will be a tough stretch, but the fact that we've already won six for the month is very encouraging. We've got a real chance to win at least 11 this month, which puts us in great shape to win 50+.

- January will be our toughest month. But I think we should expect to win 9 games or so. We're going to beat some of the A 9-10 month gets us through the toughest stretch of our schedule on well on track.

- February is going to be very soft, we only play four good teams the whole month. We should honestly go like 9-3 for the month.

- We play a tougher schedule in March but it's got a nice 7-7 home away split. I think we can take 8 of those games.

- And we finish the year with a soft April schedule. We only play three good teams that month. We should expect to go like 6-2.

Meeting all of that would put us at 53 wins. I think it's very doable.

Injuries was always the issue. How many games will Beal/Nene/PP play? And if Wall goes down, turn off the lights.

It's the same for every other team.

Agreed, see OKC. I just think that Nene/Beal/PP have a greater propensity to be injured.

This thread is a bit redundant. Let's discuss it on the Predictions Thread
