Watching CHI vs TOR
Man, Patrick Patterson and Louis Williams were great additions for TOR.
They are really making that a different team.

I'm not guaranteeing a win or anything, but Chicago strikes me as a team against whom the Wizards should match up well. They can bully lots of teams with their good big men, but we've got the bigs to match. Also, their defense is designed to force the long 2, but we have an offense that happily takes the long 2 and remains respectably efficient despite doing so. It's one of the reasons we handled them well in the playoffs.
We match up poorly with teams centered around hyper quick backcourts and jumpshooting bigs (Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, Boston etc.). We do pretty well against power teams that like to work inside out (Clippers, Indiana, New Orleans, Detroit, etc.). Chicago strikes me as a team in the latter group.
By this same reasoning, I suspect will fare well against teams like Memphis and San Antonio, but we'll get embarrassed by Portland and Houston.

CHI giving TOR the business.
And thats what playoff basketball looks like. To TORs credit, they never gave up and fought down to the wire but Chicago had to big of the lead to over come.
Should be a tough battle for top of the East with CHI, CLE, WAS, ATL and TOR

Who the hell is their back up center? Don't tell WTA, but he looks like a massive hipster

It is a slightly different matchup from last year. Pau Gasol is an upgrade over Carlos Boozer- although it probably means the Wizards get to see less of Taj Gibson. Game over if Derrick Rose plays like he did against the Raptors and shoots 60%- although it is a back to back.
It will be interesting to see what Pierce, Porter, and Butler can do. I wonder if the Wizards will be tempted to start Nene in this one over Humphries.

I like you guys because I like most of your players, but at the same time I hate you for being ahead of us in standings and eliminating us last year

Hope we have an entertaining, injury free game!

Nikola Mirotic, statistically the best rookie this year though he's playing limited minutes behind a deep front line. Can shoot from deep, can put the ball on the floor and draw contact. Active defensively, though that sometimes leads to him getting in foul trouble.
He's not our back up center by the way, he's the backup PF. Taj Gibson is the backup C. Pau Gasol is the starting center, and Noah the starting power forward.

We're gonna need Nene and Beal to not play like **** for this one.
If the Wiz were in the Bulls situation, I would call this game a schedule loss. Just played and beat a good team the previous night, going on the road against another good team. If they take us out in our place tonight on a SEGABABA, they're definitely legit and should be considered the frontrunners in the East at this point in the season.

The good thing about them adding Pau is that means less Gibson. Unfortunately, I can foresee Pau destroying Humphries and Nene.
Mirotic scares me, too. He has legit three point range.
On paper, the Bulls with Rose healthy should be favored against Washington. But the game is cruel and what the Wizards need to do is run Rose and bully Noah. Those two great players have health concerns. Wall should be in blur mode this game. Nene, Seraphin, and Gortat need to bring the nasty.
Pau doesn't like rough play.
The Wizards have one decided advantage. Nastiness. Even smiling Bradley Beal gets nasty vs the Bulls. Even skinny Otto Porter plays with an edge.
Chicago is better than Phoenix and IMO has more talent than Washington.
Regardless, Washington can win. Game or playoff series, the Wizards can beat the Bulls. Pierce could wake up and Miller, too, for this matchup.

The Bulls are going to be up for this one regardless of how many minutes they played last night.
Wall and Beal had better show up or this one could turn ugly.
