GT 36: CHI at Wiz January 9th 8pm

Post#1 » by J-Ves » Fri Jan 9, 2015 5:59 am

Who? Bulls(25-11) at Wizards(24-11)

What? After a sorta easy win vs the Meloless Knicks the Washington Wizards take on the rival Chicago Bulls in DC on national TV. This begins a difficult four game stretch in which the Wiz take on the Bulls twice, the east leading Hawks and the dreaded Spurs. Winning this first one at home is extremely important to avoid a potential losing streak, and to continue getting positive national attention from the rest of the league. In the first and only matchup between these two this year the Bulls won 99-91 in DC.

Where? The Verizon Center

When? 8pm January 9th

TV? ESPN and CSN

I can't in good conscience post Lovabulls, instead enjoy these memories from this storied rivalry.

The Bulls played like crap against the Jazz last night so that can go either way. Either it was just a misfire that means nothing and they will be back great against us or it could mean the start of a mini slump. I personally think it will be the start of a mini slump. Usually when we suck and cant score, it will last for a couple of games and not just one. I think it will be the same for the Bulls. We win and have a showdown with the Hawks. Either way, I cant wait to see Wall go against Rose & Teague right now

We definitely played like crap and could continue playing like crap, but it wasn't the start of a mini slump. We've been in that slump for more than a few games now.

Even if we play well this should be a competitive game though. Good luck tonight.

Wait, this is a home game? Crap! I have to go!

AND I WORE MY JOHN WALL UGLY SWEATER TODAY!!!

Sucks we're playing the Bulls. We'll lose and the arena will be half full of Bulls fans. Maybe I should just skip this one. Or get REALLY drunk.

If we win, we move up to second in the East (jumping both TOR and CHI) going into Sunday's game @ATL. Big game!

Huge game. Wizards can't get embarrassed like they did on MY BIRTHDAY (12/23) when they didn't get 50-50 balls and were not sharp at all.

Wiz need to get wins against the best of the East, we're 0-3 vs. the top 3 seeds right now.

Wall needs to quit playing like he idolizes Rose and just take it to him.

Bulls fan here: Good news for Wall, he only has to play one side of the ball. Rose has been defending himself better than anyone in the league.

GL fellas!

This is an interesting game. Chicago lost at home to Utah, embarrassingly. Law of averages says they're going to have a very strong game.

But we're at home and have a bad taste in our mouth from the last time Chicago came in and beat us.

If that game never happened, I think Chicago would take this one pretty easily. But I think it's closer to 50/50 now.

Though I was/am the head of the Luv a Bulls fan club, I totally respect Pine's principled decision to stop parodying them.

No! Let's just take the loss. Lesser of 2 evils.

I'll be there. Hopefully we play better than the last time we played the Bulls. I expect Wall to bring it. Think we eek out a close one. 94-91.

I feel like this is a game Washington desperately needs after dropping a few winnable games on that West coast swing.

Our starters matchup well, but I'm afraid that our second unit may not have enough juice against the Bulls.

Miller is a liability against Brooks, so I'm curious to see whether we'll see Temple share the court with the Professor for a bit.

Bulls fans are not as annoying or pompous as Rap fans, but I find they suffer from short term memory and talk quite a lot for team that has looked like a championship contender on paper for about 5 years now...and accomplished jack squat.
