I'm just about done with him.

His little lob passes every now and then are cute, and it's nice when he can post up and get a bucket every now and then (btw his post-ups take FOREVER.. save that **** for the YMCA, not an nba game) but can we please bring in someone who can actually keep up with the action on the court?

We can still give him 5-10 minutes every now and then for novelty purposes. But this team is clearly being held back by leaning on him as our primary backup PG/'combo' guard off the bench.

I'm with you.

Been saying this for a few months actually.

Nice guy and all but the pace of the game slows down to a crawl.

To distrupt our offense all you have to do is pressure Andre...because he can't beat his man off the dribble,can't/doesn't shoot etc.

The biggest thing I've noticed is that we don't get any easy buckets with him in the game. No fastbreak points.

Everything is slow and deliberate.

I AGREE! Watching this game and how fast and youthful this team is, should we pursue Ray or is there another player we should pursue?

What's annoying is how he deliberately slows the game down because that's the only way he can keep up. Like we'll have guys wanting to run off missed shots, but with Miller in the game there's no chance he will push the ball and try to get us that easy two (unless he sees the rare opening for a full-court outlet pass, which happens MAYBE once a game and doesn't justify his playing time)

Wittman constantly screams at Wall to run and push the pace. Does he not see the problem with having a completely different strategy for his backup point guard? And allowing him to freeze the offense for the whole shotclock with his old man YMCA nonsense and play no defense?

Furthermore Beal's effectiveness is much reduced with the second unit, because he's not getting the same looks he gets with Wall and feels like he has to create (which at this juncture is not his strong point).

I know. It drives me freaking crazy. :nonono:

I'm torn on Miller. I think he's been overlooked when it comes to Wall's develpoment as a passer. I absolutely believe that The Professor's presence has contributed to that. And as painful as his slow style may be at times, it could really come in handy come playoff time.

But on the flip side, I think his style might be contributing to some of Porter's struggles. When Otto plays with the starters he does well, and I think it's because of the pace. He's constantly in motion and has a nose for the ball, which works well in an open court style of play. But Otto doesnt have the 1-on-1 scoring or pure spot up skills to excel when the air is taken out of the ball completely.

That being said, I think (aside from a potential late season FA signing) they take their chances with this group as-is, and upgrade behind Wall in the offseason.

Agreed on Otto, and Beal needs to play with pace also. He's clearly much less effective and out of his element playing in that second unit with Miller.

Miller can still teach Wall as the 3rd string PG. There's no reason why he needs to be guaranteed 10-15mpg when we're trying to compete for the top of the East.

According to J Michael the Wiz are looking into Jameer Nelson (who can at least shoot threes unlike Miller). We'll see where that goes.

Yep.

As I said before, the offense slows to a crawl when he's in the game.

It's over. Thanks for replacing Maynor last season but he just can't do it against quality teams with quick backcourts, which is about 1/2 the league.

It's going to be tough on Miller at this point to go against someone like Reggie Jackson. He could have better games to come and could turn it on come playoff time.

Nah. He's basically done.

The thing is he struggles against any quick guard who pressures him.

Unfortunately, most of the league has one of those.

Yeah possibly. I always remember Antonio Daniels playing possum in the regular season. Then again, Miller isn't as young as Daniels was when he was on the Wizards. The Wizards probably aren't going to go anywhere if Wall plays the entire 2nd half.

Trade deadline is Feb 19th.. Ernie you have about 1 month to not drop the ball and blow this season.

If Miller is our backup PG we aren't getting past a team like Atlanta in the postseason. Schroder would kill him

Would love, LOVE to have AD on this team right now instead of Miller.

He was basically like a Jarrett Jack with Temple's defense.

Isiah Thomas would be perfect for us. What would PHO want for him?

Miller was getting owned by Cj Watson in the playoffs last season.

This year it'll be Dennis Schroder.

I don't want to have to see Miller on the court in a playoff series ever again.
