Henson would give us a nice defensive center who is young and could be around for a while. Bucks do this to upgrade at center. Gortat would flourish in a spread offense their rolling to the basket. Given their defensive guards and wings, Milwaukee might want to trade for more offense at the 5 position. Getting Mayo for us would also fill a need as a backup SG and is an expiring.

I think the value is fair.

For the Wizards I wouldn't draft Kaminski after trading for young Henson.

My concern is that Henson doesn't have the build to play heavy minutes at center. It would probably be a short term downgrade, although it would at least force us to play Nene at center more, which would hopefully result in Pierce playing some stretch-four.

But in the long term, it makes a lot of sense. Henson is young, and he will have a pretty cheap cap hold in 2016. Mayo is and overpaid underachiever, but he would solve our depth issue at SG, and he comes off the books in 2016. With that cap room, we could add another good player while still having room for a max contract.

Hmmm. The more I think about it, the more I like it. This is a really good deal because it makes us younger and better in 2016 without substantially hurting us in the short term. I'd do it without MIL throwing in the 2nd rounder.

Of course, since I like it, it'll probably mean that Ruzious is going to come along and tell us that Milwaukee would never do it.

Tada! Actually, it wouldn't shock me if the Bucks bite on that - because of that concern over Henson matching up against big centers - which is a legit concern to have. Last night was another example - he got killed by Chicago's bigs... again. 1 rebound as the Bulls dominated the boards - without Gibson. Henson feels more comfortable at center, but he should be a PF. He has a reputation for being lazy and hasn't put in the work to develop a perimeter game. Still, he's a talented young player.

I actually do like the idea of getting Kaminsky to team with him - as I think Kaminsky will be an excellent stretch 4/5 in the NBA. But I think Milw has a better chance to get him than Wash does because they have an extra first round pick to trade (LAC's 2016 pick), and he's going to go higher than Wash's and Milw' 2015 1st rounders, imo.

Could be a possibility, knowing that Kidd likes a 2 PG lineup, I think he will move MCW to PG/SG. I would guess they will burn their draft pick on either a C or PG - and I would guess PG.

I understand Beal's importance to this team, but at this point, I don't see much upside on this roster. We don't have anyone with near the potential Embid has in the frontcourt, and Beal hasn't progressed much from his rookie season.

I'm just throwing this out there...don't know if I'd actually pull the trigger, especially because Embid has been such a disappointment to the 76ers that they're actually considering trading him.

I would love to do that, but... I think Philly is depending on Embiid to be the centerpiece of their rebuild. I think we might have a shot getting Noel for Beal; but not Embiid unless they think he's damaged goods. If they're willing to trade him for Beal, be very suspicious.

Ha! Funny... this actually crossed my mind when I saw the wiretap headline involving Embiid.

I would do it... because I had Embiid as the #1 pick in my draft (although admittedly I didn't research the prospects as thoroughly as other drafts). Embiid under the right coach & medical staff (I know we replaced all our old staff) & with some patience is an elite level prospect. He's got legit HOF type ability and showed amazing progress at Kansas in a very short amount of time. He's also a big kid who's a health risk. But at this stage, Beal might be a health risk too.

Even if the idea was popular here, I don't see Philly biting. WireTap says they might have been willing to deal Embiid for a high 2015 pick, and that's consistent with their M.O. of putting off having to pay anyone. To deal with us, they'd be giving up a guy they have on a rookie deal for 3 more years to acquire a guy they'll have for one more year and then they'll have to commit financially. I don't see them doing that, even if they liked Beal.

Philly has Miami's pick (currently 16th). I would offer Beal and our 2016 pick for that pick and Noel. Hope to draft Kaminsky with the Miami pick and Grant with our pick. Trade Hump for a shooting guard. Going into 2016/2017, we'd have a 3some up front of Gortat, Noel, and Kaminsky to attract Durant - plus Wall, Porter, Grant, Sato, and whoever we get for Hump.

We'd have to depend on Kaminsky and Noel stepping up fast behind Gortat and Nene and make a good Hump trade, but what we have now ain't gonna cut it.

Agreed on Milwaukee drafting Wisconsin Badger Kaminsky.

Terps are gonna take down the Badgers tonight. Sunshine Layman and Smotryz and Cekovsky are going to stymie Kaminsky. Dez Wells and Romero Trimble are gonna ball out.

This is going to be Alamo or Little Big Horn or OK Corral where in the end Mark Turgeon’s team prevails.
