Here is a question:
if losing this game guarantees Witless gets fired, would you take it?
I think I would. One win against lowly Philly wouldn't do anything for me.

Do we get to change the FO too - then yes.

Hell yeah I would trade a loss here for a Witt firing. Why wouldnt you? Weve already loss a million in a row so one more wouldnt kill us. Whats another loss if you gain alot more wins and a more fan friendly team? The problem is that I wouldnt trade a loss for a "what if" and I kinda think they we wont fire him because Ted talks alot but waits forever to move.
I still disagree with alot of others here. Again, I dont think EG is great by any means but I think this roster as currently constructed can be an ECF contender and I do think we have more then enough shooters right now. Everyone is repeating the same thing about 3pt shooters but thats garbage. Put Wall-Beal-Butler or Porter-Pierce-Gortat in the game. Run p&r with Wall-Gortat all game with 3 shooters around the 3pt line and tell me we wont score and that we wont be a great 3pt shooting team

Wittman choosing trial by combat I see?
Very well, we'll let the gods decide.

I've been saying the same thing - we can debate what the "perfect" roster should look like, but this team has enough talent that it shouldn't be struggling like this.

I mean I would probably take the win but that's because I don't have much faith in any of the Wizards assistants or EG to make the right hire. I guess Don Newman was a Pop assistant a while back so that could be an upgrade- although I would think that he may be a convert to the "mid range offense is great". I think that Newman might do a good enough job to keep the job for next season.

honestly man and I want to say this as nice as I can
both of you guys are just dead wrong
and we have the evidence in regards to how we play. this teams greatest success came against a bulls team that was woefully injured and had been ran to death an entire season by Thibs. Then we lost to a Pacers team that literally had one of their best players going through a complete mental breakdown.
i mean you can say whatever you want about the roster being good--it's just not. analytics say its not, eye test says its not, results say its not.

Tonight the sinking ship can be righted.
I looked at the box score of the last three losses, and actually found some encouragement. At Detroit Gortat had 24 and 10. That game Detroit was hyped to welcome back Prince and to debut Reggie Jackson. Their energy was high. Pierce was bad.
The next game at home against Golden State Pierce had 25 or 28 points. Shot 9-9 FTs. The Wizards played the Warriors very close despite 8 turnovers by Wall and 8 more between Nene and Seraphin. They competed against GS.
Last loss at Minnesota had a lot of emotion by Timberwolves. KG returned. Washington won quarter one. Wall and Butler combined to shoot 3-18.
I think if Beal returns and Wall bounces back, this should be a nice win.
The Wizards are not as bad as the last few games have been.

Does a loss equal a Wittman firing? IMO.. if we put up another Minnesota type performance then anything is possible but I would lean no. The last thing Ted wants to do is fire someone or anyone and admit failure... he's going to ride it out as long as humanly possible before making a move. A team mutiny or string of uncompetitive games would be the best chance to force his hand.
I expect a "feel-good" win tonight against a very bad team. It should be a convincing win but hell, I expected that against Minny and we rolled over like dogs. Here's hoping we roll over again.

We are not saying this team is good. We are saying its not that good but its in large part due to coaching. Yes I do think a better coach makes this team look a world better.
I also want to go over some things you said. Again, everyone clows the Bulls win because its conveint. Injuries or not, that Bulls team had the best record in the entire confernce in the 2nd half of the year and everyone picked them to beat us. That Pacers team was the best team in the whole NBA for the first half of the year and the truth is we probably wouldve beat them if Wall didnt hit the Wall. he just couldnt make anythign anymore and it killed us.
You say analytics but we have a coach who is one of the few in the league that openly opposes it and thinks it means nothing. You dont think replacing him with someone more current would make a difference? You dont think a coach who would space the floor more would make a difference? you dont think a coach who doesnt think a long 2 is the best shot in the game would make a diffference?

I think we gotta lose by more than 20 for that to happen. Losing by 20 to Philly - that'd be too hard a pill to swallow.

I don't think I've ever been on this side of the Wizards board but an ass whopping at the hands of the 76ers would be a delighted sight. I can't bare the sight of having to watch this team play offense anymore. And I don't agree with Dark Faze though, this roster is talented, but that's another story.

Lot of excuses there. Sounds like something Ernie would feed Ted.
