We need to be embarrassed in the postseason, right?
It's the only way we can hope for Ted Leonsis to #FireGrunfeld, right? right?
How much or how bad does a series have to go for this team to get over this hump?

I won't root against the Wizards in the playoffs. Yeah, losing in the playoffs may lead to some big changes. It might also lead to Wittman getting canned and EG staying. Or both staying.
Winning in the 1st round could also mean any of those things happening.
The point is, none of us know what Ted has in store for EG and Randy. But I know for a fact that if we win in round 1, we move on to round 2. Cliche? Sure. Corny? Sure. Kind of stupid? Sure. But I just can't find it in me to campaign for losses in the one time of the year I want wins more than anything else in the world.
I guess if you ARE on the side that thinks losing will result in changes but aren't ready to actively root for losses, you're probably in luck because the Wizards aren't very good and Toronto is a bad matchup anyway. They'll take care of the losing and you and I won't have to even root for them to happen.

I agree to a certain extent but this was my mentality last year.
This year I want these clowns gone. By any means necessary and if an embarrassing exit in Round 1 is the way, we have to root for it.
Wall is going to be 25 years old soon and his prime years are ahead. We need to start drafting well and building the depth on this team better.
We need a GM desperately who understands the tenets of analytics and the new NBA who will hire a coach that believes the same.

Define embarrassing, I don't see the series being any less than 6 games, regardless of outcome.

A sweep or a backdoor sweep
Wizards won't win 2 games vs Toronto in Round .
Need the Raptors to blow them out in most of the games.

I know a lot of you hate Casey but believe me, Wittman is worse.
Casey will outcoach him in a series.
plus you have Masai who's a competent NBA GM
We have the worst GM in the NBA

Well then, regardless of the outcome this post season, I wish you all the best in the offseason. Hopefully your team owner sees the light.

Timberwolves are quietly laughing because Casey used to be their headcoach and than he was replaced by Wittman.
Then the Timberwolves realize that Flip Saunders is their head coach and they start crying.

I would wager that if we disappoint in the playoffs, Randy gets fired and we get speeches from Ted and EG about how we under-performed and that "we" expect better results next-year. Ted & Ernie together moving forward.

Here is what I think happens at the end of the year, regardless of how we end up going out. Unless we win a title somehow. Randy goes. I feel like EG "setps down" as GM but remains team pres. We hire a new head of Basketball operations or a HC who runs everything.

This actually makes a fair bit of sense. Even if Ted likes Wittman and think he's doing okay, he can help but see that the team has gone about as far as they can go under him. The players aren't learning anything new from him and they're starting to tune him out. It's no knock on Wittman. These things happen with most coaches after a while. It's just time to move on.
And if we're moving on, it really is time to have a new voice make the decision on who to hire. EG has handpicked 3 coaches now, and we've peaked out at 44 wins. (And none of his coaching hires are currently coaching anywhere else in the league right now.)

This is a pretty good read, I can totally see all of this happening. I will add that EG's #2 (Shepard?) who has had several interviews, could get promoted to GM, it's a move that would be comfortable for Ted...he wouldn't really have to interview and do a legit search.
#FireErnie ~ Because he believed Stephen Curry couldn't help us and Jan Vesely could.

I can't root against my team, but in the long run "Raps in 4" could be the best thing for us if it results in changes in the coaching staff and/or FO.

I'm not rooting for them to lose. Like some said, Wittless doesn't have a job next year. Couldn't care less what they do in the playoffs anyway. I'm certain they probably won't make it past the first round. And even if they do they are getting swept in the second round.
