Grunfeld/Wittman Extension

2 consecutive playoff seasons. 1st advancing to 2nd round. This year, stealing home court advantage game 1 in Toronto with a good chance to advance to 2nd round and ECF. Team played balanced today and was well coached on defense. Wall and Beal did not shoot well, yet this team still pulled it out and held a large lead late in the game. The Grunfeld/Wittman combo seems to be effective and going into the future, extending both together would be something to take into consideration.

Grunfelds key acquisitions of Nene, Pierce and drafting Porter was the key to todays win. I predicted them to step it up come playoffs and they did. Wittmans defensive strategy to place Wall on Lou Williams and double team him at times proved huge. I believe talks of an extension are necessary because perhaps a new GM or new coach would not be able to squeeze the potential out of these guys than what we currently have.

I hope the Raptors pull the backdoor sweep so you can disappear once and for all.

Talk to me when they make a finals appearance. Doing the same exact thing last season doesn't warrant an extension. More mediocrity isn't something Leonis should aspire to. But hey some people like average.

But the Wizards are not a stagnant team. They are better than last year and are on the rise. Not the definition of mediocrity.

You are the greatest Wizards fan troll of all time, in the multiverse, for all of eternity and infinity. Congratulations on such a monumental achievement.

Their offense is not significantly better then last year, 2 wins more then last season isn't much of an increase at all given the terrible eastern conference. We haven't drafted a star player outside of the number 1 overall pick. We overpay for veterans who in themselves are limiting our ceiling.

Your arguments are not supported by facts. This team has taken 5 years to become average...that is fairly bad. Most competent people would agree.

Not all of us want to to fluff EG's nutz as much as you seem to want to.

We have no real chance against ATL. Why continue this treadmill team? If losing to TOR or ATL gets rid of EG/Randy..its a good thing in the long term.

Let me ask you, if you are a fan of the team, or coaching and management? Do you want what is best for the team or those guys? If winning a championship meant purging our team of them you'd do it right?

As an outsider, I do think your front office has made decent FA moves these last few years.

I am a fan of the team and support management/coaching who is responsible for getting this team to the playoffs and giving DC area fans a reason to be optimistic.

As a true fan, I will always root for this team to win. More so in the playoffs where anything can happen. I just don't know how some call themselves fans yet actually want the team to fail. Wittmans commitment to defense and tough approach is probably the best thing for these young guys like wall beal porter and seraphin at this time.

You have to give the Wizards FO PR hacks credit, Millie has elevated propaganda and trolling to new heights.

#FireErnie ~ Because he believed Stephen Curry couldn't help us and Jan Vesely could.

Trust me, I am not affiliated with the Washington Wizards organization or Monumental Sports in any form or fashion. I am just a fan who calls it like I see it.

The Vesely pick is hindsight but based on the scouting report, it was the right pick considering the needs of the team at that time.

Heck no to bringing back Randy. They won today in spite of him, not because of him. Firing him should be the first thing that happens in the offseason.

Wittman is the main reason we won today. Defensive strategy, playing Gooden over Humphries, resting Nene late in the game. Wittman coaches pretty well in the playoffs.

Disagree 100%. If Nene plays more in the 4th it never gets to OT. And running plays for an ice cold Beal instead of going to a red hot Pierce was criminal. A competent coach would have won the game in regulation.

I'll co-sign on some of your pro-EG posts, but Wittless cannot be defended on any level IMO.

I thought Wittmans decision making was superb. Not playing Webster or Butler. Playing Gooden, trusting Porter and Seraphin. All of those guys were key for the win.

Werent you the one saying Butler was the greatest FA signing in NBA history?
