2015 NBA Playoff Prediction Thread

Post#1 » by nuposse04 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 7:27 pm

If there is already a thread devoted to discussing other team's playoffs games please merge.

Taking a slight study break and just saw CCJ's boy Kelly O'Lynck is keeping the celts competitive.

We haven't done a playoff prediction bracket here have we?

Kyrie Irving is going bananas. Hitting lots of contested shots.

Maybe Otto Porter will be a good player, even better than Olynyk. Otto is younger by a couple years. Porter is a two-way player who has good mobility.

Olynyk has a lot of moves on offense but he's always going to be at a deficit defensively.

One key about my wanting Olynyk was a trade down scenario where the Wizards might have been able to acquire a second round pick.

We can still do initial predictions, we do have the displeasure of having viewed game 1s however. Like I initially predicted Raps in 6..obviously that may change now.

First Round East:

Cavs over the Celts in 5
Chicago over the Bucks in 6
ATL over the Nets in 5
Wizards over raps in 6 (I feel dirty for having seen game 1 on this one)

First Round West:

Memphis over POR in 6
Spurs over the clips in 6
GSW over the PELs in 5
Dallas over the Rockets in 7

Second Round East:

Cavs over the Bulls in 7
Atl over the Wiz in 6

Second Round West:

Spurs over the Mavs in 6
GSW over the Grizz in 7 (although I really wanna pick the Grizz here)

East Finals:

Atl over Cavs in 6

West Finals:

Spurs over GSW in 6.

Finals:

Spurs over ATL in 6

Sans the wiz series everything is the same as my initial picks... :/

CP3 and Blake put on a show. Spurs played terrible, funny...the wiz-rap game might have been the only real competitive one this weekend.

The Clippers are too athletic for the Spurs. Unless San Antonio wins game two I can't see them winning four of five.

cavs over celts in 4
bulls over bucks in 4
atl over nets in 4
wiz/raps go the distance but I have no idea who wins!

Hou over Dal in 6
Clips over Spurs in 6
Griz over Por in 5
GS over Pels in 5

cavs over bulls in 6
atl over wiz/raps in 5

Clips over Hou in 7
Griz over GS in 7

Atl over cavs in 6
Griz over Clips in 6

Griz over Atl in 7

I love how the Griz are constructed. They employ a large starting front court but still manage to be skilled at every position. Conley is probably the most underrated PG in the league, and the acquisition of Jeff Green at the deadline was a major upgrade at starting SF. They also defend and rebound well, which goes a long way in the playoffs.

Asik is one guy I would not want as my starting center in the playoffs. Against competent defenses he is such a self check and useless out there. Pelicans should start Ajinca or Anderson.

I had this up on Saturday at the blog.

I'll pull out the chart tomorrow when I'm at a better computer.
