NBA Playoffs, Game 3 - Wizards lead series 2-0

Your Washington Wizards are back at home after two emphatic wins on the road against the pesky Toronto Raptors. The Washington Wizards need to continue to be aggressive and at the same time play smart team basketball. Let's hope Beal & Wall pick up right where they left off. Let's go!!! DC RISING!!

Serious question, how do you guys feel now? Those who wanted us to sweep you guys or wanted to lose to get rid of the coach, really curious to hear your thoughts.

You were talking to these two guys on the site. DC just legalized personal marijuana, their not thinking too clearly at the moment.

This will be a trap game for the Wizards. Over confidence and showboating on the home court will result in a loss. They cannot lose focus.

I don't think you guys will lose focus, you got a very good quality and cheap(contract wise) veteran who will keep guys in check.

I didn't think the Wizards could win the first two on the road. They've already exceeded my expectations, but not my hopes, as I never root for my team to lose. I guess I can understand that kind of reasoning (hoping they lose badly), but I'd prefer Terd just deciding he needs new blood to take the team to the next level.

In case you were wondering about the sweep.. if we win this one....

27-0 (1.000) odds for a sweep based on past data.

Last game was the HUGE game. Thats the one that put us at 55-4 (.932) to win the series.

But this next one is the HUGE one if we want to sweep. And since they missed out on it last time and Paul The Truth Yoda Pierce doesn't want to go through customs... they will us that as their battle cry.

Looking Good..

Pierce's effect on Wizards' youngsters being felt in playoffs
http://espn.go.com/blog/nba/post/_/id/1732/pierces-effect-on-wizards-youngsters-being-felt-in-playoffs

“I saw their focus before the game, even at halftime those guys were very vocal, very intense,” Pierce said. “I saw it in their eyes.”

“I think a lot of the stuff that y’all see coming out I think has always been there,” he added when asked specifically about Beal’s edgy play. “I just think I kind of manifest it to another level.”

Paul on OttoMagic

“He’s getting confident,” Pierce said. “He’s growing. I think at the end of the year, he finally got the opportunity to play more minutes and his confidence has just been growing going into the playoffs.

“I am steadily trying to feed it every day in the game and practice. He has a lot of potential, man. He can be the X factor for us and he’s proving that right now in this series.”

What does Otto have to say ?

“He’s unbelievable as far as mentoring,” Porter said. “[He] really doesn’t have to say much. It’s just what he does.

“And for me, a young guy, I am willing to see that and I am going to soak as much up as I can by just watching him, how he comes in and prepares, how focused he is, his routines, things like that.”

Pierce is going down as one of my all time favorite Wizards. I wish we had been able to get him earlier in his career.

I look at it like this. A moderate playoff success this season (incl sweepin' TOR) and a long term vision as a real contender are two different thangs. ATL will eat us alive and the difference between the two teams will be made so evident that even patient Ted would want to clip an outdated coach who has no regard of advanced metrics and is incapable of maximizing the talent available. Am I asking too much?
