Gotta think Ernie has a trade lined up somewhere. Roster is full, and they usually only go 14.

EG may think he has some good trades lined up, but other teams like Toronto and Orlando are also gonna be looking for a starting PF.. they better not drop the ball.

Some of these wings on the roster certainly will end up getting moved, hopefully the return is good.

I would say Blair for ham sandwich.. but he would probably eat it before the trade was carried through..

Anyway.. Welcome back Drew. Dude is a Wizard lifer. Now he can get to work on Hump and teach him to hit those threes.

Keeping my eye peeled for some more moves. Summer league starts tomorrow.

And hopefully by the trade deadline, Dirk is sick on DAL and wants to come join us for another playoff run.

A Webster clean-up is going to happen at some point. If we buy him out, does he still count as a head on the roster?

I don't mind it. We weren't saving the cap room for anyone else, and it's a one year deal. He's a good guy who plays his role and doesn't complain; I'd say he's earned a little bump.

He more than earned a pay raise, I would rather bring in young blood, but hell I'm ok with this. Can we Please turn Blair and Webster into something !

How can we afford that? Didn't Anderson get $4.0M of our MLE?

Wasn't the cap just increased?

Hmm. Not sure. But it's all over Twitter:

Did we have Gooden's Bird rights?

The cap was increased from $67M to $70M, but it was irrelevant to us. We had a team payroll around $77M before the Gooden signing. We haven't been using cap space to sign people all summer, we've been using exceptions.

Roster full. No Kevin Seraphin. We are thankful for that. But we wish him the best -- nice kid.

Back from last year: Wall, Beal, Sessions, Temple, Porter, Gortat, Nene, Gooden, Humphries, Blair & Webster.

Gone are Pierce, Butler & Seraphin. Added are Dudley, Neal, Anderson & Oubre (apparently Aaron White won't be on the team this year).

Amazingly, this is an even older team than last year's team. Despite adding the 19 year old Oubre. And Oubre is the only future asset we've added. The willingness of our FO to do that to the franchise kind of amazes me.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

Did we have Gooden's Bird rights?

We might have had his Early Bird Rights. We get those in two years. I don't know if his half-season in 2013/14 counts. If we had Early Bird Rights, we could give him a 175% raise. That would mean his salary would jump from $1.45M last year to about $2.53M this year. It would also mean that this contract would have to be a 2-year deal (though I don't know if we can make the second year unguaranteed.)

It's totally understandable. When your picking from guys who you will only sign on cheap 1-year deals, you're either going to get decent-but-old veterans, or young-but-not-very good players.

That's one slow and unathletic-ass frontcourt. I bet Dudley plays at least 20 mpg at the 4.

It's the same slow unathletic frontcourt we had last year, sans Seraphin.
