Are others experiencing frequent outages? It seems like it's been going on for weeks. Getting to be pretty frustrating.

Yes. Like I said in the other thread, this site is apparently hosted on a casio wrist watch.

Seriously, WTF is happening? This isn't draft night or the playoffs where there is heavy usage.

On top of the availability issues and runaway ad scripts, mobile RealGM is a tragedy. There are page shifts after 3 seconds, 6 seconds, and 10 seconds on average: yes, at least 3 times, the page MOVES. So you want to click a particular link? Nope, sorry, you accidentally clicked one of the 7 ads. Speaking of mobile ads, how about a sliding ad that can't be closed and is a pain to "minimize" - you likey?

phpBB for one of the largest sports sites in the world? Are you kidding me? This isn't some anime fan fiction forum from 2002.

This site is ripe for a solid competitor to emerge.

I don't even use the app, but whether on desktop (home or work) or smartphone, it always sucks now, especially when it makes the window flash and I just have to give up and close it. Is this the ghost of hands?

I've been having issues as well...thought it was my computer or Firefox at first but then I realized it was really only happening when I was in RealGM.

When hands11 got permanently banned one rationale offered was that he was driving away high value customers.

The ad scripts are annoying to me but I'm not sure if high value customers notice those.

They HAD TO notice the site problems at the start of the NBA season. Much more offensive than any post by anyone IMO.

Preach, those page shifts are sooooooooooo incredibly annoying. Countless times I've ended up clicking on a mod's profile.

It's the ancient technology. The fact they are still using PHPBB is a security and code bloat nightmare. Much of the code was written 15+ years ago. It's slow, and generally trash.

They should really migrate to BurningBoard or XenForo, for an operation this large to still be running PHPBB in 2015 is lazy. Both of the companies above have schema maps to migrate the forums. The main issue is RealGM has hacked PHPBB to death with the news feeds etc. They're just complacent with the ad revenue. Bad sign.
