Quick question on Porter Jr.

I've heard he is capable of hitting the 3 ball, but he has been missing a lot with exception of a few great games. Is he a good 3 point shooter? What would you expect his 3pt % to be at the end of the season?

I think he will shoot a decent clip, high 30s i would wager if Wall can get him open looks.
If you are looking for a player comparison, a lot of people on the board say Rip Hamilton because of his high IQ when moving off the ball on offense. I actually see some Prince, too.
If Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton got drunk one night and had a baby he would be Otto Porter. Thats my opinion and future prediction for how he will turn out.

I think it is just a sample size issue. He was hitting them in the playoffs last year and in preseason.

IBTM.
He has a nice stroke. They'll start going in eventually. Gotta say I've been very impressed with his play thus far....very solid.

He's just off. Porter has a great natural shooting touch.. they will start falling soon, probably 37-40% by the end of the season with Wall creating so many open looks for him.
I assume this is for fantasy? I own OP in one of my leagues, he's gonna be near top-50 value once his 3 ball starts falling because of the other stocks he contributes and 2/1/1 potential. All shooters have cold streaks ie Klay Thompson right now, once they start hitting you'll be glad you own them.

He'll never be an automatic 3 point shooter but I fully expect him to at least be respectable from 3(aka around 35 ish%).

There's all kinds of questions about stretch marks, who bore whom and how, nursing dads(?!?!), etc., that I will not ask.
Immaculate conception I've heard of. This would the anatomically inaccurate conception.

I dunno about that. I think he 3-point stroke has become very very good. And he's an extremely hard worker. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets that 3P% up in the 40% range.

Otto is only 6-24 3Pt so far, but he's a much better than .250 shooter.
I believe he'll be at least .350 by the end of this season. He's a better three point shooter earlier in his career than Rip.
Right now, Porter is very unselfish. He can score a lot more points. He's a legit #3 scorer who I think as his career progresses will become like Reggie Miller on some nights.
Porter is a pretty complete offensive player IMO.

I agree.

I'm sure he will be a good 3 point shooter in time, but right now it's not his shot. His mid range game however is money. I wish they would feature Otto from mid range more in the half court offense similar to how Caron Butler was used when he played here.

I think he will be close to 40% 3P this season.
I admit to the board I was 100% wrong on Porter. I eat major crow.
I am embarrassed and ashamed.

Well, I'm getting a bit worried now. He is shooting 28% on three pointers. I guess he's just in that sophomore rut right now.

What worries me is the wide open looks he's missing.
Pace and Space requires, you know, shooters.

In the same time he is so many times automatic from long 2s. It should be a matter of time when he will start to bang 3s all around.

The biggest concern about Otto is that it really looks like his effectiveness ebbs and flows with his confidence. That's not a good thing.

Agreed. Not sure if he's Tim Duncan stoic, or Forrest Gump "slow". Obviously hoping for the former.

I think people got carried away by his playoff performance, just like they did with Beal. SSST. This is Porter's first season as a full time starter so it was inevitable that he was going to have some issues adjusting. Not many guys come in a click on all cylinders in their first year with big minutes.
Porter is shooting fine on long 2s. He probably just has a bit of a mental issue on 3s right now.

I think we need Paul Pierce to punch him, get him mad.
