YOUR Washington Bullets are 7-8 AFTER THE MOST SURPRISING victory of the year at Cleveland downing King James and the Cavs!

John Wall had 35 and 10. It's so unusual to witness Wall scoring that many points, driving to the lane, and converting layups. He also hit his jumpers. It was an amazing performance but one we can't expect many nights. Will he start to be aggressive? He'll have an easy PG to go up against on Wednesday.

The Wiz return home to host the 2-15 LA Lakers. Kobe Bryant announced this is his last season and he got a joyous return in his native Philadelphia with the Lakers handing the Sixers their first W of the year.

If you're at the phone booth, you may see Kobe for the final time... or he may be on the bench.

It would be hard to imagine losing to the Lakers after beating the Cavs. Kobe will still have a good game here and there, but watching him is far worse than watching Michael Jordan in his comebacks with the Wiz. Shooting covered fade-away 25 footers makes him look like Nick Young at his worst. Yeah, he's earned the right to take those shots, but if he loves the game half as much as he says he does - Why Take Them?????

Will be there. Gonna give Kobe a standing O, and I'll probably boo Nick Young. :D

Well to be honest MJ wasn't THAT exploited by injuries. KB basically played in 55 out of 260 games last 3 and a half season. That's like 20% of possible games. After that Achilles injury he just isn't able to play same basketball. It's sad because - even if I wasn't his fan - he is one of the greatest players ever ... and yet many will remember those games for couple of years.
MJ in Wizards was just old, KB now is old and exploited. IMO that's huge difference.

Anyway - I hope we will win and Kobe will save his last big night for someone else.

Old MJ was simply a much better player. MJ was still the best player on the Wizards at 40, despite bad knees. Kobe, at 37, should be benched.

MJ on the Bullets was a much better player. He still had elevation on his shot and was playing on the block. MJ also was still a 20+ PPG scorer on good efficiency.

Kobe's Achilles injury ruined the twilight of his career. Before the injury, he was having a pretty good individual season offensively but his defense fell off a cliff after that last championship run.

I grudgingly admit MJ was a surprisingly good player for the Wiz who knew how to take advantage of the few skills he had left, rather than throwing up stupid shots as if he had "earned" them. And he wasn't as terrible a GM as all that either. But he beat Charles Barkley when I was rooting for him and that I will never forgive.

Naturally Kobe announced right after I put my tickets up for sale not knowing I could have
gotten even more from some delusional fanboy mistaking Piece of Meat for an actual person.
Oh well. Still made out okay. (I know, I know, don't sugarcoat it. Tell us how you really feel.)

Was Kobe ever the best player on a team that won a ring?

Not according to win shares (Pau 2x, Shaq 3x). Alltime great sidekick.

Not according to PPA either. Kobe has had one of the greatest careers in NBA history while simultaneously being significantly overrated.

Hopefully he plays tonight.

Wasn't paying close attention but did I hear Shaq claim he and KB were the GoaT inside-out combo?

I might have to go with Lew Alcindor and Oscar.

Bryant also played 20 consecutive seasons coming straight out of high school, never taking time off in between like MJ. We've seen baseball players play that long, or even in the NBA some slow-moving big men who take advantage of their size. But Kobe being a guard, there's just no way for his body to still be in tact after that much mileage.

Tbh I don't think the Lakers are really bothered by what he's doing. The reality is that most fans who come to see Lakers games (whether home or on the road) want to see Kobe shoot. And the worse the team does, the better chance LA has of keeping their top 3 protected pick and landing Ben Simmons.

Sorry that I can't weep for Kobe. Nobody's forcing him to play for 20 some million dollars or forcing him to take terrible shot after terrible shot after terrible shot after...

30.1% from the field and still jacking. That's not loving his sport or scratching an itch; that's the height of selfish play.

I wish someone would create a jpeg or gif of a clank.

I'd like to post it tonight, live in the game thread after every KB miss.

Would be a perfect #soWizards moment for the Wizards to drop this game to the awful Lakers with Kobe going for 50+ and Nick Young dropping 30.
