Coming of two quality wins in a row, a depleted Wizards squad is looking to match their longest winning streak of the season.

Things continue to look bleak on the injury front, but the Grizzlies recent lineup change featuring Matt Barnes at PF might work in the Wizards favor and give them a chance to be competitive on the boards.

With Wall's 6 point outing in the previous game against Memphis still fresh on his mind I expect him to win his battle against Conley this time, and if Gortat can rekindle some of that magic he had against Sacramento I like Washington's chances against a Grizzlies team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back.

Having dug themselves an early hole and with a brutal January schedule looming, the Wizards desperately need to keep this thing going.

I'm looking at the January schedule and am not seeing it as tougher or easier than any other month.

In general, we need to pray that JW's body holds up, that we can tread water for a while, that our injured old vets (including old man Beal) come back and that Witt is able to figure out a reasonable rotation with a long, but average roster.

Best case scenario, we're mid table around the trade deadline and are able to steal a young big man from someone.

Grizzlies are on a back-to-back, playing last night in Philly. They coasted to a victory with nobody playing more than 35 minutes.

Well, I see a schedule littered with Eastern Conference opponents that are ahead of us in the standings and quite a few of which have absolutely destroyed the Wizards earlier this season.

2x Celtics, Raptors, Heat, Magic
1x Bulls, Pacers, Cavs

January could very well be the difference between being a lottery team and making the playoffs they way I look at it.

I mean not really. Other than the Celtics and I guess Indy (who for whatever reason has our number at home) we've played well against the rest. We lost on a buzzer beater to the Raps, beat Miami on their court, are 2-0 against the Magic, haven't played the Bulls, and beat the Cavs on their home court (their only loss at home).

Props to Oubre, great recognition with his help on Gasol, also great ball movement by the team on offense. That series of passes that led to the wide open Dudley three was pretty.

Duds, temple, and Oubre are the type of guys who excel next to wall. 3s, drives to the basket and defense. Let Wall do the hard work of creating, he's good at it.

I am really liking the start of this game. Rebounding well, Wall dishing the ball...even the shot selection (maybe minus 2) are good.

we are also benefiting for the Griz not hitting much of anything.

Nice quarter. Temple still playing well even when his shot isn't going. Dudley has been terrific. Obviously we need to keep pushing the pace to have a chance in this one. Wear them down./

Come on, somebody call a foul on Randolph, mugging Gortat there.

That wasn't a shooting foul, but I guess the refs had to give them something.

Maybe Hump shouldn't be the inbounds guy.

Sans the stupid fouls oubre is playing well. Kudos. Hope we can maintain the big lead.

Now Temple can't hit a shot and with Neal not even trying to shoot (back injury?), that forces John to go into scorers mentality.
