Posted elsewhere, but am putting in this look at Brad's season:
...only someone as good as Brad would be asked to carry the load he did this year. & I attribute to that load the quite small efficiency dip in Brad's numbers.
It wasn't much of a dip at all. In fact, if we look at his non-scoring stats per 40 minutes there was virtually no dip overall with one exception -- he turned the ball over .75 more times per 40 minutes. & that, naturally, is the result of the increase in his usage (which was already very high). All the other stuff (rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fouls) more or less balances out with his numbers last year.
As to scoring itself, Brad took over 25 shots & almost 9 FTAs every 40 minutes --@ a 23% jump from last year. Yet, his TS% was virtually the same as last year (57.9% vs. 58.1% -- effectively no difference at all).
So, ...what (this) ...tells you is that Brad ...is continuing to grow & develop -- precisely b/c of how much he was asked to do & how little the dip was.
... you put more on this guy, & he does not break. He doesn't even really bend! Wow...!

Beal is just a tremendous young man, would love to see him play out his career with Washington.

Now that he's got the offensive side mastered to an extent, it's time to D up and prove he's an all-around star. We know he and Wall CAN play D at a high level. It's just a matter of seeing them do it on a consistent basis for a full season.

There’s a finite limit to the amount of energy he can expend. As other players step up and carry that workload — or return from injury as in Johns case— Beal can turn up the effort on defense as well. As he alluded to in the video he is a notch undersized at his position. He can only defend well by constant action, and without an intimidating defender behind him he has to play both the drive and the shot. The blanket is too short to cover the shoulders and the feet.
Our defense would need roster help as well as scheme. And a distributed workload on offense will help here as well.

Which brings us back to a rim protecting PF or C... in addition to distributing the offensive load and a few less minutes.

He will play better D once walls back and the offence isn't all on him. Also I wonder if Beal wants to take a shot at getting blown out by the bucks or the raps or would he rather just not.

Maybe he would have made it if he didn't sit out of the bubble but at the end of day, it may be good because it could motivate him.

Highly recommend to watch. Most interesting thing is Drew Hanlen and Beal choose one thing each off-season to add to his game. Last offseason it was drawing free throws. This offseason its extending his range from 4 feet beyond the 3 point line. This season on those shots:
Lillard 205
Young 201
Beal 33
Other tidbit: Sheppard told O'Connor he envisions a team full of guys who can shoot + create their own shot. O'Connor thought it was interesting because that means they don't want to emulate the Blazers or Rockets where offense runs through the two guards and then other players complement them. That explains the Hachimura pick, as well as their interest in Wagner and Jerome Robinson. Could tell us something free agency and draft plans.

Brad is a veteran. Like so many older people, as he approaches retirement age, he is considering climate in his choices for where to spend his golden years.
As we all know, California offers a sunny, warm climate -- all the warmer, in fact, given the recent fires. Thus, there is no reason for concern; it is easy to understand why he decided to purchase a Los Angeles home.

One foot out the door. I don’t blame Beal...this franchise is a mom and pop operation. Small potatoes. That’s the teams image amongst players.
Better trade him now while you can get value for him.

No doubt, PIF. And I believe LA is where BB does most of his offseason training. Now, he has a home for he and family when he's there.
