Over his 4 games post-injury, Beal has played extraordinarily well. He has averaged 25 points, 4.5 boards and 4.2 assists per 36 minutes with an ORtg of 136 and a 3P% of .529. It's a sample size of just 95 minutes so it's no reason to get too excited, but it is starting to bring up his season averages.

At this point, his WS/48 and ORtg have moved up near his career averages, and he's doing it on somewhat higher usage. It's not yet enough to say that he has improved substantially over his first 3 seasons, but it's a step in the right direction.

Since Beal has been back there's been the occasional iso, but for the most part it's been Wall handling the rock and finding Beal for good looks. Not sure if watching Temple had an effect, but I like this less involved version of Beal that we've been seeing.

If he could just play this way and add in more bulldozes to the rim it would help a lot. He's not effected much by contact when he's in the air..he needs to take advantage of that.

I wanna see him initiate the offense more see how his playmaking is now.

I don't...somethings missing...I think wall elevating his game recently should make beal look better and it's not, he looks the same ..but when watching it seems to be something wrong...

I think playmaking is the last thing he needs to be doing. It brings down his advanced stats quite a bit due to the turnovers--he simply doesn't have the handle to be a playmaker.

He needs to become more aggressive off the ball to recieve catch and shoots or simply go at the rim hard. Improve his FT percentage. He can finish the season at 20 PER if he does so.

Did you not read my post at the top of this page. Beal has looked really, really good since returning from his injury.

I don't. This is exactly what causes his decline in efficiency. Beal needs to play catch-and-shoot, or catch-and-attack when the defense is scrambling. Beal is at his worst when he tries to initiate offense against a set defense. Leave that to Wall and Sessions.

Yea I read it....I disagree...and I looked up the stats to confirm what I was seeing beal hasn't been playing defense

You said he looks the same. I'd argue that an ORtg of 136 is definitely not the same as an ORtg of 98.

But his defense hasn't looked good especially since he playing against bench units for stretches....if I knew beal could continu3 to shoot, 50,50,80 I wouldn't mind...but il he he's playing below his average defense to improve his offense, I don't like it

Yeah but getting a good PER isn't the end all of playing winning basketball. I think Beal has to come into his own as a playmaker for this team to make the jump from mediocrity. Playoff Beal is the Beal I want to see.

I want him to improve as a playmaker, but you have to be efficient about what you're working on. Guys have limited time to work in the summer. Its going to take years upon years for him to develop a brand new skill set like that. More efficient and faster results would come from maximizing what he's good at--off ball treys as well as off the dribble treys, eliminate the mid range game unless its an extremely tantalizing shot, and work on going hard to the hoop otherwise and using that strength. REALLY REALLY clean up those free throws--no excuse.

Klay Thompson isn't an assist guy. Ray Allen wasn't one either at 18 ppg in 08 for the Celtics. Nor was Korver last year as a guy who was destroying defenses simply as a 3pt threat.

Seconded!

I'm never going to trust him to be a "great shooter" until he can hit at least 84% of his free throws. His current 76% is a joke for any self-respecting "shooting guard".

Def don't want him to be purely catch and shoot, Don't wanna be one dimensional l. He can do more not full time but just for game plans for the other team.

Beal needs to work on his defense...thats where his confidence lies when I see him play...
His offensive confidence usually steps up doing tough matchups...
U can literally see it
He goes into shots more fluidly, doesnt hesistate on the handle n he challenges the paint more...
Wall is the same way,

I also agree that Beal can't create his own offense and should rely on Wall. That combined with his injury risk, what are the chances that he still will seek a max contract and what are the chances he will get it?
