Wizards at Hornets (2/6/16)

The Washington Wizards come off a double digit win where Bradley Beal lead the Wizards in scoring with 22 points andJohn Wall recorded a triple double with 18 points 11 rebounds and 10 assists. The Hornets in the meantime are coming off a loss to the Heat but did recently record a win against the Cleveland Cavs without Walker in its lineup.

The Wizards have won 3 of their last 4 meetings against the Hornets including a 109-101 home win earlier this season. Still, the Wizards cannot take Charlotte lightly given that Washington is 3-7 in their past 10 games and currently have a worse record than the Hornets. Washington looks to improve upon its 11-10 record on the road.

Keys to the game:

Image

John Wall has to contain Kemba Walker who is coming back off an injury but still managed to score 20 points against Miami. Wall needs to play with energy on both ends for Washington to win.

Image

Bradley Beal and Otto Porter are going to have to eventually knock down 3 point shots who were a combined 1-7 from 3 point range in their last game against Philadelphia.

Image

Marcin Gortat may need to play extended minutes in this game to anchor Washington's defense, especially if Nene is out with a strained calf.

Interesting notes:

Image

Jared Dudley, Gary Neal, and Ramon Sessions previously played with Charlotte. Dudley was drafted by Charlotte back in 2007. Neal and Sessions were traded for one another in a trade between the Bucks and Bobcats in 2014.

This game will feature a matchup of the #2 (MKG) and #3 (Bradley Beal) picks of the 2012 NBA draft and the #3 (Otto Porter) and #4 (Cody Zeller) picks of the 2013 draft.

We got that Beal start out of the way and this team usually shows up on the road. Its good that Wall may start rebounding more but I want him to make sure that he keeps his aggression and doesn't start just playing for triple doubles. He's certainly capable of being that type of player but I want it to be natural and not forced. I don't want him passing up stuff or concentrating on numbers.

Charlotte is near full strength now with Kemba, Batum, and MKG all healthy. They will be quick and aggressive at home. I expect a very intense matchup. Having Nene back helps alot in this one

Not closing out the 76ers early last night will hurt the Wiz a little in this one. Kemba will go off, because name the last guard John has limited in scoring. I believe the key will be a better bench performance. Tight close game tonight.

They better cover the 3 pt line. And they will need someone other then Wall to hit open looks from 3, Looking at Beal, Temple and Porter. Hell is Beal even playing tonight?

How bout Hump's knee calcification, how much longer does he plan to coast on the sideline with a "sore knee"?

I predict Porter to shoot 0/12 from the 3 tonight.

I just bet a ton of money on the game only to now find out Beal isn't starting again? I hate this team. I also thought Nene just sat yesterday for rest but I should've known better with him. If I had known that Beal wasn't starting, I would be wagered on Wall with points instead. Im guessing Beal must be on a lower minutes restriction because its a b2b but I bet it's still enough to where he could start. This staff is so dumb. I just have to pray that Temple or Porter are hot for once. Otto has to be due
