Detroit's going to try that spread offense with 4 guys hanging around the 3 point line and Drummond ready to grab all balls near the rim and dunk. Gotta keep him off the offensive boards and guard against 3's. Simple, right?

A must win game. Detroit is 9th in the standings and two games ahead of us. A win here gets us to within one game of Detroit while also securing our tiebreaker advantage.

It would be nice to have a Morris who is fully cognizant of our defensive schemes. The big advantage he provides is that he's much more mobile than Nene/Humphries on the perimeter, while also being sufficiently big enough to prevent guys from jumping over him for offensive rebounds (like what routinely happens to Dudley). Also, Having Morris gobble up PF minutes means that we would never see Gooden and we should rarely see 3-guard lineups (since Porter can play SF full time).

I wonder if Nene isn't a better option than Tat for keeping Drummond off the boards
with quick feet and a strong frame. May need them both. Definitely a must win game
but we've lost a lot of those games so far this year. Wall needs to dominate Jackson.

additional thought - Morris shouldn't need a scheme, just tell him to check his bro.
Family pride/braggin rights.

Gortat has
consistently matched up well with Drummond. Indeed, Gortat seems to fare better against the super-sized bigs like Drummond, Jordan and Valanciunas. I think those guys really have trouble with Gortat's ability to run the floor and make quick cuts to the basket.

Surprising that Drummond's scoring efficiency has gone down since his first 2 seasons in the NBA, and his turnovers have increased. He's such a great rebounder and shot alterer, that his value is still sky high. Sounds like their brain trust things that surrounding him with 3 point shooters will make him much more productive and efficient in the future on the offensive end - and it makes sense. We'll see a glimpse tonight. And Mort will have his say.

I expect us to win 75% of our remaining games for no other reason than because Ernie always finds ways to survive
we'll go on a ridiculous run to close the season for sure

Can't say they came out flat for once with a big point on the line.
I like Wall being a bit more patient waiting for those picks and on defense the Wizards are giving great effort. There haven't been a whole lot of good looks for the Pistons so far.

Wizards declined to match the Blazers contract offer and he left. Washington struggled with backups for quite a while after that IIRC.
