Sixer's Fan Wondering About Bradley Beal

Since he's entered the league, I've always been enamored by Bradley Beal. His shooting ability and athleticism always enticed me, and he grew 2 inches since entering the league (I hope I'm not mistaken on that) which really sealed the deal for me. I've always thought he would be the perfect player to balance out the Sixers roster and scoring. In case you didn't know, we're devoid of anything resembling spacing on our current roster.

With all of that being said, I'm praying the Sixers throw him a max contract the first day of free agency. I haven't been able to follow much of the Wizards this year, so I was wondering if anyone could let me know what the situation is with Bradley Beal. From the little I've seen, there seemed to be a little turmoil in the locker room as the season wound down. If the Sixers (or any other team) were to offer Beal the max, would the Wizards match? Is he committed to staying in Washington with Wall? I just need to know if he's worth getting my hopes up for at all haha. I'm not quite ready to get excited about us throwing BIG money at Evan Fournier or Harrison Barnes. I'd much rather give money to someone with injury troubles who could be elite, so do we have any chance?

For better or worse our Front office will match any offer for him.

Did he grow or is he more like 6'3"?

Great family he's from. Good kid as far as i can tell. I am familiar with people from Saint Louis, MO, who indirectly know of him.

That said Beal gets hurt a lot and IMO he's not currently worth the max contract he's undoubtedly going to receive most likely from the Wizards.

Hell yeah, he would be an instant favorite of Sixers fans. Handsome kid who is wholesome and a damned accurate three point shooter. Beal MUST improve his free throws both in frequency getting to the line and accuracy. He's a lousy FT shooter for a SG IMO, but he's only soon 23. Beal is also very inaccurate off the bounce and in shooting midrange. That said, he defers a lot and IMO clearly has another level he can reach.

Philly has Okafor and Embiid and Noel inside. Covington is a future all star on the right team IMO. Ish Smith is a competent floor leader. Bradley Beal would definitely help the 76ers BECAUSE officials and coaches league-wide respect his talent. He does play hard and with reckless abandon for the most part. Beal has it in himself to become MUCH better.

He grew at least an inch since the draft. There was an interview in the summer after his rookie season when he said he was a legit 6-5. Going by the eye test, I'd say he's about the same height as 6-5 guys like James Harden. He also has a pretty long wingspan and high shoulders so he plays a bit taller than he is.

I like Beal. I liked the pick, and I hope he can stay healthy and become the player I thought he could be -- something like Ray Allen. Unfortunately, his on-court performance has been very average since entering the league, and he really hasn't improved much in his four seasons. Obviously, he's very young and could improve significantly, but -- as the past four seasons have shown -- it won't be automatic and shouldn't be assumed.

I agree 100%. I really hope he can maximize his gifts, no matter what team he is on. He's still a special talent who's almost as young as some of this year's projected top ten picks. As a fan of Stephen Curry since he entered the league, I hate to see such an amazing talent get derailed by injuries. We can only pray he turns it around like Steph did. Best of luck to you all in your offseason endeavors. If a few things fall into place in Philly like I'm hoping they do, hopefully we can have some more entertaining match-ups between us than last season (and maybe we'll even win one!)

EG is probably going to match becuase Ted probably told him too, that being said, if the sixers want him that badly they could offer a S&T for him, for Noel and pick and call it a day. That would probably get the deal done. Because if beal is going to accept your offer than the price of not matching would be noel and a pick would essentially be the deal. If we don't match I would be happily shocked. Beal is not a bad player, he is just not great yet, and my never be and he gets hurt a lot, hes made of glass, like every part of him! I would say this, if you max him, he is not worth it but matching a really good 22 year old player who can get even better is not the worst that can happen.

I don't see the 76ers doing it.

Beal is a solid shooter and that's it. He's basically the second coming of Martel Webster, a high draft pick that ends up being a role player and injury prone. He will be appreciated more on his next team as they didn't waste a top 3 pick on him and therefore can be evaluated as he is and not as they wish him to be. If the Wiz do sign him to a long term deal even the biggest Beal supporter will eventually come to hate his presence on the team as he continues to be an average NBA player.

No. Beal is better than Webster was, except in Webster's peak (a PPA if 114 (a little better than average) that first year in Washington). He was 26 that season. He didn't have a season approaching Beal's performance thus far until his third year (PPA: 88). Beal has gotten hurt and he's been very average, but he's a better player than Webster was, and he's likely to have a higher peak. Based on what he's done so far, Beal's peak doesn't seem likely to be as high as hoped when he was drafted. The trouble, of course, is that Beal looks like he'll be a solid starter (assuming he can stay healthy and start improving), but he's going to get paid like he's elite.

Would they entertain trading him for a top 2 pick?

I never honestly believed that Bradley Beal enjoyed playing alongside John Wall.

Always felt that if power were in his hands to control his NBA destiny, he would leave for another team to be his own man instead of being relegated to playing off of Wall's strengths.

If Beal thinks he could ever be the man he is in for a rude awakening. Third option at best on a championship contender

I'm really supprised reading this ...I thought Wiz fans would look at him as an untouchable ..but I guess when you account for the injuries it makes sense ....I wonder if EG would be interested in a OK4/NN swap ...it would seem to make sense for both sides

Its teds call to be honest. EG does what he is told. I thin Noel and a pick for beal is a decent trade. but ted might have made him untouchable.

I could see holding out for a pick and prospect if Beal had a couple years left on his rookie deal. However with a max deal, his value in a S&T is a pick or prospect at best.

His value is zilch. Maybe we get a 2nd rounder. That's about it.
