First up...where does Westbrook go? I think they have to deal him, otherwise they'll lose two stars for nothing. Maybe Boston can still get a star from OKC, just Westbrook instead of Durant? They still need to make a consolidation trade, and would have the youth/picks to offer. Plus Ainge strikes me as gusty enough to risk a one year rental.
Isaiah+Amir+rights to the Jaylen Brown and another future pick? Leaves Boston with:
Olynyk/Zeller
Horford/Jerebko
Crowder/FA
Bradley/Smart
Westbrook/FA
I'm assuming they bring back Zeller, and then they can pick up a couple vet FA's willing to play for cheap to round out the bench.

Westbrook to Boston makes a ton of sense. I think they have a Nets pick or some other high value future first. I don't think OKC deals Westbrook right away, but if they look to miss the play-offs it makes a ton of sense.

Looks like Dallas has a clear direction (The same thing I suggested the Heat do for Wade). Overpay their icon this year, with the hopes they return for a Duncan contract next year when they get a Star.
Dallas has Bogut and Deron Williams on one year contracts. Next year, they'll have Wes Matthews, Barea, Powell, Curry, and Justin Anderson... with about 65M+ in cap space. They can sign two stars and then have money left over for Dirk to opt out and sign for about 5M.

Don't forget they're going to max out Harrison Barnes as soon as the moratorium is over, so their space next year will be closer to $40M. Still enough to land a max player, plus another decent piece.

You don't have them retaining Sullinger? Any idea where you expect him to go?

Re: Barnes, Cuban pulled an Ernie, he had to get a name, does Barnes elevate after leaving Curry & Green? I wouldn't have placed a bet on him
D Wade pulling his usual games with Miami, he doesn't want to leave Miami.

I think that Barnes will likely be a disappointment. However one favorable comparison could be Caron Butler who started out his career as and OK role player and then had some very productive years as a star with the Wizards.

You know, I almost put his name in there.

I guess I was assuming they'd pass on matching a contract offer after committing to Horford. But you're right, they could still keep Sullinger.

I dunno, what I've read today makes it sound like there is real beef on both sides. Miami wants to pay Wade closer to his actual value, while he wants to be compensated for the money he's already given up. And you can't blame him IMO when they've been quick to pay other guys: Bosh the max two years ago, Dragic near max last year, and a quick max offer for Whiteside this year.
Of course that's not all about Miami not wanting to pay him, they are up against the apron as repeat luxury tax offenders so they really are working with a hard cap. But then the organization is supposedly miffed that Wade didn't do anything to help recruit Durant, while every other team's stars participated in the meetings. So it goes both ways.
I actually would like to see Wade go to the Bulls. Now that they have a PG in Rondo, I think they can be a solid team if everyone stays healthy.

They would have some question marks, but that would be an interesting team.

Ever hear of Willy Hernangomez? 2015 35th 2nd round stasher. Why for once in his life won't Ernie do
Something like this!?! This is part of the 76ers asset dump.

One of the biggest things I don't get about this offseason, is why the Wizards didn't buy a 2nd rounder or two. They have tons of roster slots and they could stash the guy if he is not ready right now.

Had to make sure there was roster room for other teams' cast-offs....

I wanted Nene back on a 1 year deal if FA was a disaster which it has been.
But that was before the Mahinmi signing.
I didn't expect him to sign for the room exception.

Who wants to bet on Nene outproducing Jason Smith? I wouldn't want to give Nene a 3rd year, but he would be a decent fill in at the bottom of the rotation.

I think Nene might outproduce Mahinmi!

Its conflicting for me because I would have loved to have him back at that contract, but relying on him as your backup C is shaky at best. And if we signed another backup (Aldrich or Dedmon) then I dont think he signs here as his PT is jeopardized.
Still, A Dedmon or Aldrich + Nicholson + Sato + Curry+ Nene offseason would have been a better and we'd still have 15M in capspace to use for more depth... eesshhh

That's a real good pickup for Golden State. He's a better version of Speights.
