Re: 2016 Offseason (continued)
Yi played badly in the Lakers pre-season. He couldn't make a bad Laker team and was bad here. Don't we now have 15 players signed anyway? Wall, Burke, Satoransky, Beal, Thornton, McClellan, House, Oubre, Porter, Stevenson, Morris, Ochefu. Mahinmi, Gortat, Smith.
There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics — quote popularized by Mark Twain.

Do you mean Nicholson?
Also, I like house, but with RJ Hunter, Dorell Wright, and Reggie Williams out there, I dont see how we dont upgrade that position.

yea, seems like there's going to be a lot of good waiver options this year, Yi isn't worth a roster spot, heck there are guys on the team that will probably prove not to be worth a spot soon enough

Not surprising once they got rid of Teague. I think Teague will continue to be the better player of the 2.

Teague didn't have the energy to run that team. During the post season he looked disinterested a lot of the time. Say what you want about Schroeder but he tries hard and has a lot of energy and talent. He keeps the pressure on the defense. Teague just coasts sometimes. I think it's an upgrade for Atlanta.

He tried hard enough to put up 19.8 points and 7.5 assists per 36 minutes last season, and he improved his 3 point shooting to 40%, and even in the playoffs, he had 18.7 and 8.0 per 36 - though yes, his FG% was too low. Schroeder really hasn't done anything other than show he's an ok PG - and with his scrawney build, I think his durability is a bigger concern than Teague's. We'll see how it plays out with Teague in Indy vs Schroeder in Atl - should be interesting.

Even with all his problems - still has a 15 game suspension, drugs, turnovers, fouls... I'd still strongly consider signing Mitch McGary and put him in the D League for the season. That might make me a little bit racist.

Mitch had talent but I think he's too far gone now. He's had bad issues and I think he's just far too much of a reclamation project.
If Burke is bad I'd love to dump him for Gary Payton. May not be great offensively but if he could become Garrett Temple with more energy it wouldn't be horrible.

Yikes.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

It's important to understand that he does not have a drug problem he has a weed problem, I feel like there is a difference. As far as the reports that I have heard anyway, maybe I missed something.

From what Woj said he's probably headed overseas. I think there may be more to it, because last year he was away from the team for a few weeks w/ what we all thought was a team suspension. Woj said he left on his own, which seems weird to me. I don't know for sure but it may be worse than what was thought. Hope he's alright but I think he's a little too risky right now.

Re: 2016 Offseason (continued)
haven't been interested enough until now to keep up so I'm now wondering
(and too lazy too google or otherwise search)
where are all our expirings from last year?
Nene
Gooden
Dudley
Temple (Sac)
Sessions (remember hearing he got paid but I forget where)
the rest of our expirings I've already forgotten but feel free to tell me anyway.

Sessions signed with the Bobcats for $6 M and the second year is team option. I would have kept Sessions for that kind of contract.

Sometimes I cry thinking about drafting Jan Vesely over Kawaii Leonard and knowing the people who were in charge of this decision are still making decisions.
