Any sign that he is going to develop into a real NBA player?

This is completely incomprehensible to me. The kid is a horrible shooter, an awful FT shooter, doesn't rebound a whit, turns it over a lot for how little the ball is in his hands, and overall does not one thing well at all.
I assume he's camp fodder, and if so then no big deal. Still... why do other teams get guys like Christian Wood, Alan Williams, even Willie Reed, and we wind up w/ O'Bryant, and Danuel House, and Jarell Eddie?

Well, this is just so that they have enough players for training camp, I think.
If he proves that he has improved his game since last season, he maybe will stick around. But it will have to be a big improvement. He didnt do too much with the Bucks.

Here's a Bucks blogger's take.

In all seriousness, JOB is really good at two things. He hustles hard, and he almost always makes the smart play.
For O’Bryant, the smart play typically is not to shoot the basketball.
That may sound harsh, but JOB understands that he’s probably the fifth option on offense almost all the time he’s on an NBA floor.
O’Bryant averaged just 1.3 turnovers per-36 minutes last season, less than all Bucks aside from Rashad Vaughn, who was too busy missing shots to turn the ball over.
Even with a low field goal percentage that largely stems from O’Bryant’s inability to score around the rim, he still added 0.3 wins to Milwaukee last season. That’s not a great mark, but it’s better than seven other Bucks, including veterans like O.J. Mayo and Greivis Vasquez.
In short, JOB is the ideal ninth or tenth man. He’s never going to argue for more minutes, and you get maximum effort out of him each and every night. He doesn’t shoot very often, and his mid-range jumper is actually very serviceable.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

The kid s 23, a good quality hard working kid. He needs some work but he is smart and he tries hard. I like the move much better than trying to retread a vet of some sorts in his 18th season. PIF.... negative as always lol. Let's count this as a win and hope the kid makes the team there was a PF spot left open, for him to compete for with the kids from summer league. Remember it took temple a few years to put it together, but everyone said he works hard and he's smart. That's this kid right here.

As PIF is negative, your equally positive. This however does not make you or him right. I think it's quite obvious, considering the ineptness of our front office, why one would take a negative tone towards the franchise. I'm much closer to PIF than you are. However there are probably opportunities of optimism that we miss due to this. On the other hand, more often than not, a negative view of this franchise has been the correct one. The Wizards haven't done enough to earn the trust of its fans.
In this particular case, the optimism is unwarranted. POJ is not a good NBA player, regardless of how hard he tries or how smart he is. He simply has not displayed the offensive skill or ability to warrant playing time in the NBA. He's arguably one of the least skilled players in the league. For that reason I don't understand why he's a PF or why the Bucks played him there. I think he's a C. A bigger Michael Ruffin is what I've seen but he's not been very good on that side of the ball either so even that is a stretch. Hopefully he's training camp fodder but it would be nice to have guys in camp that could help the team if they made the roster.

LOL. No, he's not the ideal ninth or tenth man. He's a 16th man on a 15 man roster. He's simply not an NBA caliber player. Trying to make the case that he is because he wasn't last on the team in FG% and to's is silly. Of course he didn't get a lot of turnovers - his usage rate was extra low. The best you can say about him is he's a body.

I like it. This is one of the players I wanted the Wizards to sign in the 2nd round. He showed good under-the-basket game and decent range in college.

I haven't yet heard the Wiz spin machine peddling JOB as another outstanding EG offseason signing. I'm sure that will come as soon as he gets a rebound or blocks a shot in a preseason game.

This is by far the deadest this site has been in the decade I've been here. EG has finally killed our spirit.
I can't believe we're not at atleast 100 pages about a once in a generation star like Johnny O'Bryant.
What's wrong with you people?!?

Bingo!! I officially have zero phucks left to give and yes, EG's off-season to set himself up until he wants to retire was the nail in the coffin. I will still with some curiosity initially.
