Official Thread -- Wizards @ Pistons (1/21/17 6PM)

NOTE: 6PM start time.

Since their opening run of 3-9, the Wizards have gone 20-10. They are trying to extend their current 4 game winning streak with a second straight road win (and 3rd win in 4 days). Pistons have recently gone 6-11, and only 3-5 at home in that span. KCP has missed the last 3 games.

Perhaps contrary to image, Gortat has played pretty well against Drummond (Head2Head), and with KCP likely sitting, will the Wizards maintain energy, discipline, and focus? They can take this game!

So who's it gonna be?

Wizards?

Or dirty old Pistons?

Focus and execution for 48 min should = W

Capt Obvious says we're playing really good ball right now.

KC-P is their 2d best player & one of the top minutes guys on the team. It's a stroke of luck for us that he's out, because it makes them significantly worse.

KCP is their best player. Really like him a lot. Leur being out will help as well. He's the type of guy that Markieff slacks off on.

A win here would pretty much end any possibility of Detroit catching us in the standings. We'd be 5 games ahead of them with a tiebreaker advantage. With Detroit and New York knocked out, there would only be 8 other teams who could realistically finish ahead of us, making the playoffs nearly a sure thing.

Those are some good looking chickens, that's for sure. Unhatched, yeah -- but what difference could that make? :)

I predict the Morris brothers get into a slap fight during a timeout instead of both of them going back to their respective benches to ignore their coaches.

With KCP out, the Pistons lack 3P shooting. Only Reggie Jackson is a pretty good shooter from deep (37%). Harris, Udrih and Morris are serviceable (35%, 36% and 33% respectively) but we shouldn't have to prioritize on denying them open looks from deep. Everyone else is under 32%.

Our weak side forwards should be able to cheat down into the lane and deny the pick-and-roll lob to Drummond.

You know this is a match-up Wall has circled on his calendar. Just like the Blazers game.

Wonder if he should start circling Boston games for a change.

Given the way we play Boston, we should probably strive to avoid the 6th seed in the East. Better to be 4th, 5th or 7th. I'm not afraid of Toronto or Atlanta.

Toronto would always crush us in the regular season also, Boston doesn't really scare me either to be honest.

Boston doesn't scare me. Wizards beat them down by over 20 points in DC and should have beat them in Boston but Trey Burke couldn't defend IThomas.

Tonight is an important game. Wizards need to win another road game, keep the winning streak going, and get closer to the number 4 seed. Wizards also need the Pacers to lose again and for the Hawks, Celtics, and Raptors to lose a few.

Kief just showed Brad how to shoot an open three. Did Buck just call them the "Kief brothers"?
