ANNOUNCEMENT -- Shared Game Thread for OKC Game (Link here)

.
For game thread, here is a link.

Wiz Board Members:

We're going to try something new (for us). We'll be sharing a game thread with the OKC board. We, the mods of both boards, hope that this will be an interesting way to enjoy the game. A couple of notes:

1. So I hope the Wiz board is out in force to represent during the game. Please log in with your comments.
2. We're NOT going to mod heavily and you should not walk on egg shells about having fans of the opponents team on the same thread. Banter, when pulled off well, is entertaining. It can really add to the experience. If I were to provide guidance about how to react with OKC backers, I'd say this: Imagine yourself in a barber shop with a fan of the other team. And you're both going to not givr up backing your team. Barber shop level banter is good, it's fun, and it's encouraged.
3. Because of the way the RealGM system is configured, we can't really share one thread in multiple spaces. So we'll be moving Tricky Kid''s official thread to OKC board while leaving the shadow topic here on the Wiz board. You'll see it (but we can't sticky it here). Clicking into it will take you to Tricky's thread -- which will be the shared thread -- on the OKC board. Get in there and represent on behalf of the DMV.

I will, separately, be inviting OKC fans to the trolling thread. So check that frequently and defend the honor of our Wizards!

Go Wiz!

You don't have to do anything unless you want to replace your existing thread. I was going to move the existing thread to use as the shared thread

Cow tipping is a myth, just like integrity in DC.

I heard that in Oklahoma the cows are better tippers than the people.

Half the time you can't tell the difference.

Crap, I forgot which side I'm on.

My grandfather grew up in the panhandle. Cow tipping is real, and so is lighting up cow flatulence and creating a slow four-legged flamethrower. Good Times in the OK panhandle!

I forgot his name but it was loud about some white guy who put a bomb in OKC. This is off topic but as you mention terrorist and Oklahoma I forgot years ago to check if He is still alive or being executed.

Yeah, Tricky -- I know you're from Poland so may not be attuned to American sensibilities and such. So no disrespect to you or pinging at you b/c you did nothing purposefully incorrect.

But Tim McVeigh isn't a topic tha needs to be pulled into a game thread or is a subject of light banter. (Nor is he representative of the residents of Oklahoma City). His actions were, and are continued to be viewed, as tragic and horrible.

Again, Tricky, don't take this post wrong. No disrespect of anything at you. Just wanted to do a quick note of explanation.

Q: Why don't girls play hide and seek in Oklahoma?
A: No one would look for them.

As a military brat I once lived on Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. Attended kindergarten there.

Earliest memory I have is of seeing an approaching tornado in Oklahoma. That and watching Captain Kangaroo... Literally 50 years ago!

:)

No smack talk for this game from me. I recall the last time the Wizards played the Thunder. Westbrook started slowly but finished very strong.

I think ill pass on the combined game thread. According to my supervisors I don't play well with others and I have a test to study for. So, ill just have the game on in the background as I drink Jim beam and study (drunkenly pass out in my hematology note book).
