Truly a remarkable game by the starters. That run they made in the 3rd quarter was just unfair. You gotta love how the starting unit is clicking. Beal and Porter are automatic from the perimeter. Wall is like a surgeon, slicing up the defense. Gortat finishing on the pick and roll and playing great help D in the paint. Morris doing a little of everything. Just fantastic. I've never witnessed a Wizards team play this well. They've won 14 of their last 16, with the two losses being a last second tip-in by Detroit, and a ridiculous buzzer beater by Lebron.

The defense was amazing and the offense was even better. The second unit is a disaster. We need a combo guard or point guard to have a legit run at the conference championships.
Guessing that means Grunfeld finds us another big.

Brooks seemed to make it work when he made an effort to keep one of Wall/Beal out there. The combo of Wall+Burke or Beal+Sato was serviceable for a few minutes a game over the past month or so. But when Burke and Sato are together, it falls apart.
I understand why Brooks went with Burke/Sato tonight. What better time than a blowout to give those guys a chance to work it out?

Leaving the game now Tapatalk was crashing like crazy so on full mode on my phone, all I'll say is please get a combo guard or someone who can create off the bench.
Im starting to wish maybe we could've took a shot on Seth Curry or something

Just a question. I know Burke sucks but I can't see here any negative comments about Sato. It is ridiculous this guy is a bust. He isn't young freshman I thought that guy who played on Euroleague level can shoot, can pass. What I see from him is dribling the ball behind 3 point line run the clock and pass to a guy who isn't prepared to shoot. His D is way overated on this board. Please don't start with adjustment to NBA. Too many games behind us and we don't have even average backup PG. We are ****

Indy loses again. They're slipping pretty far behind. Boston keeps winning, making it hard for us to catch them. It's still looking like a contest between us, Atlanta and Toronto for the 3rd seed. We have a much harder schedule than Toronto, though.

Honestly, the reason that combo is sooooo ridiculously bad, is because they are both playing out of position. Burke cannot run a team, Sato isn't a spot up shooter, especially when burke doesn't create open looks for anyone, also why Oubre is struggling, he's not playing with people who create looks for him thanks to Jason Smith playing power forward(?) Everyone sucks playing with Burke.
If they simply moved Sato to point guard and flipped Burke for a combo guard, all of the benches problems are completely fixed. 100% confident in saying it. its coaching and personnel

tricky this is just wrong. his DRPM ranks him 15th out of all shooting guards. Brooks has said it himself, he's a great defender. He's a pass first point guard playing off ball while burke deflates the ball, everyone has looked awful at some point with the 2nd unit. Theres no structure without a point guard

Agree that he usually sucks, and Burke has a better offensive game, sometimes, but Satoransky is a better, more aware, and more physical defender, and he seems to have pretty good court awareness, so that gives some hope that he'll eventually find his game. He'll be given some benefit of doubt as being new to the league. By next year, expectations will be higher, especially for his offense. Burke's been in the league awhile, has used up his chips, no breaks for him.

I'm still against any kind of trade that sacrifices a future 1st for a stopgap combo guard.
In the playoffs, Wall and Beal are each going to play 42-44 minutes anyhow.
Also, I disagree about Sato's D. He's probably the best defensive guard on the roster. He also has the size to play our switching scheme. Basically, the team can tread water with him out there as long as there are a few strong scorers alongside him. We're going to have those strong scorers in the playoffs because Brooks will stagger Beal and Morris to play with the bench unit.
Burke, on the other hand, is just horrific on defense and also horrific on offense when he is playing PG. He is only useful when playing as a SG alongside Wall.

Dominating performance by our starters. OKC came in showing weakness after their loss to GSW, and our guys smelled that immediately and stepped on their throats. That's what great teams do.
Towards the end, I thought that Brooks moves tonight were passively aggressively saying to Ernie "Get me a damn bench!!"
Ted was right there courtside. Everyone can see it. They need to be on the phones 24/7 these next 10 days trying to improve this roster, and hopefully Burke is shipped out in whatever deal is made.

I don't know about Toronto, they seem to be freefalling the past month. Losing to some real BAD teams. Funny thing about that is their schedule was extremely front-loaded to start the season, but they played way better then compared to now.

low-key the best part of this game was when otto was left in with the scrubs and just went full ISO mode and was dropping buckets. sigh
we waste so much of Otto's offensive ability.

Are U saying he is better defender than Beal ?

Its nice that we have to other legit stars in Beal and Porter and Morris is playing like a legit starter and so is gortat. Because we don't need Wall-Star Wall every single night to win, I hate when Burke has good games because they are fools gold. God I hope we make a good trade.
