Barf. I was right about them trying to dump Nicholson at least. Bogdanovic sucks, McCullough is interesting but not good enough to lose a 2017 first.

How annoying! This trade still doesn't fix the teams biggest issue. Both back up guards are unplayable in a playoff series. Unless Wall and Beal play 48 MPG in the playoffs, they're effed.

I'm not crazy right?? I feel like the only one who thought this deal was awful. Bogdanovic is a dreadful defense player, even for Nets standards. Chris is interesting, but it's concerning that he couldn't get minutes on the Nets. Will take a look at what the Nets board thinks.

You guys do realize that McCullough was a high upside big taken in the 1st round just like we would've drafted with that pick.

And we added a scorer and dumped Nicholson.

And it's lottery protected

He's been in our D-League team for the season. Back and forth with our roster.

He's got upside to be a solid stretch four in a few years but he needs a lot of time. He's actually playing the most basketball since High School since he only played 15 games in college and barely any a season ago. He needs reps and must get stronger to be a player in this league but he's a good kid. Hometown kid at that.

This deal sucks, but I guess it was destined to happen the moment we paid so much for Mahinmi/Nicholson/Smith. There's no way to sugar coat it. EG sacrificed a 1st round pick in a good draft to avoid the luxtax and picked up a half decent rental in the process. Why oh why won't Ted fire EG?

My biggest problem with the trade itself is that I don't think we are in much need of another 2/3. We certainly don't need one as badly as we need a backup PG.

Pluses:
Probably better than Thornton or Nicholson
Get rid of Thornton or Nicholson
Can hit a three

Minuses:
Traded away a 1st
In last year of cheapie contract. If he's good, he'll cost, if not...
Doesn't really adress guard depth, does it?

Question:
Can he effectively play SG or stretch 4? If not, seems to be some redundancy.

the guy is going to be a free agent this summer and there's no guarantee we keep him

McCullough, in his second season, could only manage to steal 72 total minutes of playing time on the worst team in the league. He's a bust.
