With Corbin struggling & Strasburg going to the 10 day IL for shoulder inflammation,
Fedde & Voth will get to show what they can do.
But today it looks like it’s Espino on the mound.
Can’t help but wonder what’s happening with Seth Romero ?
I can’t find him on any of the Nats minor league rosters.

And Zimmerman at first for Bell, who was 0 for 5 yesterday and has started slow.

Nats spilt 4 games at home against the D-backs.
Ross to start the first game of a 3 game series with St Louis here in DC.
Bell back in the line up batting 3rd between Soto and Schwarber.
Hopefully Bell can get his batting average up above 200 lol.
Soto also in a mini slump the past 3 games.

Ross looked bad yesterday, in a loss.
More bad news as Soto goes on the IL.
Line up without Soto doesn’t look right.
Corbin pitching better today, game going into the 6th inning.

Scherzer
Windy & 50 degrees.
Not liking these blue and white caps.

Nats win their last 2 games vs the Cards. NY Mets next, they lost 3 against the Cubs in Chicago.
Erick Fedde vs. Jacob deGrom tonight
DeGrom with 14 Ks in each of his last 2 starts. Fedde struck out 9 in his last game.

Bell & Scwarber with slow starts to the season need to get some RBIs in this series.
I mean how much longer can we expect to win 1-0 ?
Then again the Mets aren’t lighting it up with runners on base lately.

Shutout in the first game of the series by Degrome
Another line up change but anyone’s got to be easier to hit today.
Let’s see if Ross can hold this 4 run lead for 3 more innings & turn it over to the bullpen in the 7th

After sweeping 3 games from the Marlin, Nats are in 1st place !
Now let’s do it to the Braves.
But still no word what’s going on with Santangelo. No ones talking. Not him, not the Nats, not MASN.

Guess it depends on what you define as “fly” but it was nice.

What a win! This team has some magic in it.
….And Joe Girardi is a clown.

This Schwarber thing is just remarkable. I didn't see this team being at .500 at this point after losing their top two starters and top reliever, while hitting about .150 with RISP. Have to give Dave credit for keeping the ship afloat.

They have an absolutely brutal schedule down the stretch. 3 more vs. Miami, make up game vs. the Mets, then Tampa/Dodgers/Padres/Giants. If they're at or near .500 at the end of this, kudos.

Who looks ahead? Who thought they'd be .500 after playing the NL East for 11 straight games?

Dude… Just in case someone on here doesn’t realize how crazy what Schwarber is doing is…

Just listened to Rizzo on 106.7 and man, got to love that guys transparency.
Quick takes I got from it:
- He realizes we are sellers. Owners expect a contender so it is always a “rebuild on the fly” but this year is no longer realistic
- Talked about how much he respects Turner but anyone could be traded. Spoke about how they have talked extension with him
- Scherzer has earned the right to have a say in where he goes if we trade him (duh, he has a no trade-clause)
- Mentioned that we have a good core at position players which included by name: Bell, Soto, Robles, and Turner
- Next years goal is to contend
- No deal is close because he knows as the minutes tick, the deals will get juicier

They went like 5-11 in that stretch, ultimately getting swept by Baltimore was the catalyst to blow it up but that stretch I talked about was going to make or break their season anyway.

They need 2 things to get back to being good next year: 1. Sign Turner. 2. Strassburg has to get healthy and be what he used to be.

Nice. So you're applauding yourself for predicting that the team would fall apart against a tough schedule and the Orioles? Who knew that Schwarber would get hurt, Gomes would get hurt, Castro would disappear due to legal issues, Rainey, Fedde and Ross hurt. Shall I continue? Not even going to get into Strasburg. Congrats. You predicted the future.

Nats hopefully will be selling in the next few days. Max, Schwarber (to AL team for DH). I haven't heard Hudson's name mentioned or Hand (blew two straight games). Apparently, they would only trade Trae (COVID) if they get blown away by a deal.
Considering the fact (held by most) that they have the worst farm system in baseball, they desperately need to do something.
