Who looks ahead? Who thought they'd be .500 after playing the NL East for 11 straight games?

They went like 5-11 in that stretch, ultimately getting swept by Baltimore was the catalyst to blow it up but that stretch I talked about was going to make or break their season anyway.

Nice. So you're applauding yourself for predicting that the team would fall apart against a tough schedule? Who knew that Schwarber would get hurt, Gomes would get hurt, Castro would disappear due to legal issues, Rainey, Fedde and Ross hurt. Shall I continue? Not even going to get into Strasburg. Congrats. You predicted the future.

Dude they've been inconsistent all year. Corbin's been trash all year. There's always a stretch for any team that's in the running to make the playoffs, in any sport, where it would make or break their year. Where it could turn a team that might be buyers into sellers. Nats just so happened to have that stretch right before the all star break. **** happens, it's good that they're tearing it up. From all accounts, they have a bottom 5 farm system at the moment.

Really? I never said they were good. I was just applauding them for being interesting and exciting when Schwarber got hot, and yes, they've had a bunch of trash players from Corbin to Robles to now Kieboom. But that division was so bad, that if they had a healthy Schwarber, Gomes, etc. to mesh with Soto, Turner and an improved Bell, that was good enough to compete for an NL East title (even w/o Stras). I wouldn't just say sh-t happens. I've never seen a team so torn apart by COVID, injuries, COVID again and then Castro in the middle of it. Not saying they would be good, but a slightly above average team wins that shi-tty division.

Bottom five farm system? More like 30th. That's why they need to sell.

That was a real gamble to pitch Max today and it worked out fine. Hopefully, they get an even better deal that they were asking for.

Assuming that deal also goes down, the Post better add pages to the print paper for the sports page tomorrow.

Crazy to give up Turner. He’s a guy you build your team around.

They've never kept a hitter. They have let every one of them walk. I sincerely hope Soto is the one they throw the brinks truck to because there is absolutely no one behind him coming from the pipeline.

A 30 year old who you're going to have to pay a boat load of money to.

Not that crazy to move him honestly.

Especially if you plan to keep Soto.

See how the ump steps up there around the 40 second mark to give Zimm a few more seconds to compose himself and the fans a few more seconds to cheer. Little things like that...
