I was hard on Brooks but I actually give him a Lil break. I think part of his mindset was that in the 1st game he was going to play just about every guy to make everyone feel included and give everyone a taste of playoff ball incase if needed later on

The combined 99 points by Washington's starters is the Wizards' most by a starting five in a playoff game in a decade, and the second-most in the last 20 seasons

TBH it was a necessity. Beal had 2 fouls going into the 2nd.

True, I just didn't like the specific rotations he made. When Beal picked up the second, I thought the obvious move would have been to sub in Bojan at the 2. Instead of the Wall/Jennings lineup that never worked in reg season and killed our momentum going into the 2nd q

Basically Brooks needs to scrap the Wall/Jennings lineup for life. Don't even think about it again

I think everybody has agreed with that sentiment for a long time but Bojan at the 2 is a risk because of his D. But in the 2nd half, he took out Wall and put Jennings with Beal and Jennings thrived. He's terrible off the ball and he's barely adequate with the ball unless he's running. If he can just facilitate and not shoot, he's fine.

Yeah he's awful in an off ball role. Not only can he not shoot, he just doesn't know what to do. Sessions wasn't an awesome shooter either but at least knew how to play off of Wall some

I'm going to assume Brooks was just experimenting with certain lineups and wanted to see if he could give the bench guys some confidence. Obviously that didn't work which I trust him to recognize moving forward in his rotations

This isn't intramurals. I think the early Beal fouls screwed up his rotation. There's no way, unless we're up 25 early, that he should go back to the all five bench players in at once. He tried, he learned, he failed. Now somebody has to sit next game.

I agree with Millsap on one play and that's when he was tackled on the floor by Morris and Porter and got no call. It's great to be called the overly physical team when you have Millsap and Howard. That showed that our bigs did their job. Even Porter was getting physical.

Great 3d quarter. Terrific defensive effort from Markieff. Oubre outstanding in his 19 minutes. The rest of the bench was scary: in a combined 44 minutes, they went 2-11 & managed a total of 6 rebounds.

Wall was fantastic, obviously.

Wall was magnificent. Morris and Gortat were great as wel, very intense.

My only complaint is that horrible Gatorade commercial which loops constantly seemingly on all NBA games.

Obviously, game 2 is critical -- I'd feel a lot more confident if our 2d unit had performed well. We'll need a better game from Brad. I'm guessing we'll get one & be ok.

Just finished watching the TNT tape of the Wiz -- Atlanta game. i haven't read this whole string and apologize if this is repetitious. But I do want to comment on how awful the TNT announcers were. They would not shut up, particularly the color guy, Greg Anthony. They do not have to comment after every shot or play. We have been spoiled by Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier, who have often demonstrated that silence is golden. I am truly worried that Chenier's replacement will just jabber like Greg Anthony did.

If there was a local broadcast on CSN with Buckhantz and Chenier, you guys who watched that were lucky I couldn't get that down here in Texas..

I was out for Easter Brunch in Annapolis and just watched the game on DVR. Yeah, I recorded the Comcast Sportsnet feed. I like the home crew.

Just finished watching Brooks press conference. It seems that some of the Wizards biometric data (although he didn't explicitly state this, but honestly what else could it be given how maligned our bench is.) is influencing rotations. Stated that he wants to keep John and Brad between the high 30's / low 40's in MPG. If John/Brad can avoid foul trouble, they'll be able to be staggered better imo. Thought the 2nd half went a lot better than the first without anyone getting into serious foul trouble.

Those 2 back to back Morris dunks got the crowd going crazy. Most electric atmosphere I've seen at a Wizards game.

It's nice to be on the receiving end of that complaint for a change, especially against that team and those bigs. Gortat and Morris not backing down too easily from Howard and Millsap. Wizards are learning how to be tough.
