What? Come on man. This is when people that only look at statistics take it too far. Chris Paul has won exactly zero championships. End of story.
Some say it's Oscar Robinson. But he only won a ring when he was traded to the Bucks and paired with Jabbar. Some say it's Magic Johnson. But he was lucky enough to be drafted by a stacked team featuring Jabbar. I don't think we can really judge how good a PG Paul is until he has a chance to play with Jabbar. Until then, the greatest PG of all time is...Jabbar!

Uh, Oscar "Robinson?" Who is that dude? Autocorrect strikes again.

To be clear, winning rings isn't the single reason why a player is considered the best or not. Yes other stats count as well. However, rings do play a significant role. For example, is it safe to say that Jordan is #1 overall on many people's lists? Now, if we were to take those 6 rings away from Jordan, where does he rank? Where does Bill Russell rank without his 11 rings? Or on the other hand, where would Karl Malone rank if had won a few rings? Or John Stockton?

Here's how you tell how good a player is: you look at how good his play is.

Here's how you tell whether one player is better than another: you look at how good the play is of each player. The one who plays better is a better player.

Clear so far?

Everything a player does is expressed in numbers in one way or another. How many assists? That's a number. How many points? Ditto. Shooting percentage? Once again a number. How many rebounds -- wow, that's a number too!

Whether a team wins a championship depends on numbers too, amazingly enough! But, it depends on the numbers of all the players on the team, not on one guy's numbers.

Finally, guess what? Your assessment of Chris Paul also depended on a number! An irrelevant one, to be sure. But it convinces you.

So True! The amount of letters you use per forum response is 348.9 on average. Since 348.9 is the highest number, you are the best forum person EVAR!!!!!
