Capital One new arena sponsor for the Verizon Center

Not bad. Fans can just call it the Cap Center.
I'd also be fine with Capital One being the jersey sponsor. I wish the NBA weren't taking on ads, but now that it is, I want Ted to get as much $ as possible for that jersey badge. If I had to choose between "protecting the aesthetics of the uniform" and "paying the luxury tax one more year," I'm taking the latter.

The Cap Center, in Land Over Chinatown. Now just change the team name to Bullets and get an owner named Pollin and they might just win a title.
Here are some other names for the place:
The CVC
The Interchange
The
Laurence Fishburne Samuel L. Jackson Center
Grun Field

Oof. The Grun Field is the Field of Nightmares.
I hope and expect them to go with the Cap Center, but they're likely to go with a forced nickname with more "synergy" -- e.g., The Wallet.

Man, totally missed this until a couple days ago. Gonna miss saying "The Phone Booth". But I like this idea:

Cash...that I'm going to spend elsewhere!

Nah, I'll probably catch a few games this year when it's all said and done. Maybe an away game or two as well.

Where do you catch away games? Do you have one of those travel jobs? Outside of DC, I've seen NBA games in NYC, Philadelphia, and Orlando, but I've never seen a Bullets/Wizards away game.

So far I've only been to one - I was on vacation in Mesa, AZ in March 2016 and was able to catch Wiz/Suns. A friend of mine recently moved to Atlanta, so I'm going to try to catch Wiz/Hawks in January. Would be cool to make it an annual thing.

Didn't know where to put his but they are renovating the arena:
https://dc.curbed.com/2018/2/13/16995578/capital-one-arena-renderingsThe concourses on the 100 and 400 levels of the Chinatown venue, which opened as MCI Center in 1997 at a cost of $260 million, are slated for complete makeovers according to the company, with new flooring, lighting and decor. The team store inside the arena’s F Street entrance will be updated and, upon completion of the renovations, be open year-round. Two lounges will be added for premium ticket-holders, and revamped concession stands will feature a variety of new items, including concepts from celebrity chefs Cat Cora and Alex McCoy and local restaurant partners. The arena’s purple seats will be replaced by black seats with cupholders. New digital displays will be added throughout the concourses to make the arena easier to navigate. Part of the investment will also go toward further developing the Monumental360 program, a data-based effort to analyze fan preferences and deliver a more personalized fan experience.

Black seats ey?
Considering that this has **** all to do with any color scheme of the local teams they've either got a good discount or they've concluded that they do a better job of masking all those no shows.
