Do we still have a rivalry with Boston??!?

In light of all of the moves Boston made in the offseason, is it possible to have the same animosity against the Celtics? Kyrie, Gordon and the other Morris twin didnt participate in the funeral game, the playoff series or in any of our battles...I doubt there will be any bad blood....which kinda sucks because we cant truly get revenge against the Celtics for that game 7 L.
do you think we will still have a rivalry with the Celtics?

Nope, but Kyrie vs Wall is always fun...and Hayward has such a punchable face.

Well Smart is still on the team as well as Horford.
But i wouldnt call it a rivalry at all really. Bit of a beef. I think the two are different and exist for different reasons.

Yeah, Because I hate Irving always did and always will. He's overrated.

IT in Clevelend is another reason to hate the Lebrons, but Celtics and their fans are annoying AF so it doesn't matter who they have got I still don't like them. Besides Horford and Smart are still there...
After Kyrie trade the earth must be flat in Boston

Smart is still there and Rozier is a feisty character that could pick up some of the slack, but Boston pretty much gutted much of what made up that iteration of Celtics for a couple of milquetoast stars.
Washington will still want to beat them badly considering that they're likely the league's new darlings and that the Wizards will feel compelled to make a point, but I don't expect there be the same kind of chippiness that has existed between the two franchises until they have a few encounters under their belt.

Rivalry in the sense that I believe we're both in the same tier in the Eastern Conference, so I expect us to bring it a little more every time we play them. And the fact they knocked us out the playoffs

Wizards have to win to make it a rivalry. Right now it's just one team trying to reach the other guys spot

Boston never recovered from not being named capital of the United States. The obsession with comparing Bunker Hill Monument size with Washington Monument size is positively fetishistic. And hey, the Nile is not just a defense mechanism: in 1608, Captain John Smith sailed up the Potomac and set foot on DC's shores, well before any Europeans had landed in Massachusetts and went about crafting an unintelligible English. The Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox are mere overcompensatory symptoms. Sad.
Oh yeah, it's on! The streets will run brown with molasses.
