The Wizards are officially in Trouble!
I’m not one to start panicking...but the Wizards are clearly in trouble.
The team doesnt appear to have an identity and it doesnt look like they have a way to get signficantly better this year.
If the Wiz dont figure out a way to make a change this year could be a wasted year even before any normal NBA injuries.
After these years, yall know me...am i over reacting... or are we fine?

Re: The Wizards are officially in Trouble!
It’s early in the season, so I wouldn’t draw too many conclusions.
The Wiz seem incrementally better as was to be expected. Problem is, the East is getting a lot better with teams like the Celts, Bucks, 6ers, and Detroit looking much improved and teams like Miami etc on par with us.
If we stay healthy, we are probably a middling playoff team. If not, we could end up low lottery (although perhaps without a first if EG unloads Mahinmi at the deadline for a ‘jolt’).
We are, in short, what we’ve known for a long time - a classic treadmill team.

Yes, you're overreacting...for now.
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

This team have big mouths. They write checks that they don't cash (well not on the court anyways) and they still act they superior to other teams (lol reality check). They play with no effort and as a Wiz fan I will not make much effort to support them. Fuq em

I had them winning 45 games
They’re on pace for 49. Way too early to panic. We know their flaws. We know they lose games they should win. We know defense is inconsistent though they’ve clamped down the last 6 games.

They do seem to overestimate how good they are. It leads them to consistently underestimate their opponent and will inevitably cause them to lose 5 or 6 games that they should not have lost.
On the other hand, that sense of confidence may help them against top tier teams. They're certainly not afraid of anyone. I was listening to Brian Windhorst on the Zach Lowe podcast the other day and he said that he considers Washington the greatest threat to Cleveland specifically because Washington has absolutely no fear of them.
Overall, the record so far is a bit disappointing considering the ease of schedule, but it's nothing to get too worked up about. They have 3 bad losses (@Phoenix, @Lakers, vs Dallas) and 2 unexpected wins (@Toronto and @Denver) They probably should be 10-4 or maybe 11-3 instead of 9-5 but I wouldn't say they're "officially in trouble".

Was thinking in the 44-50 win range myself, but all the good spots were taken and I wanted to win that car. Not too shocked by anything I've seen so far. They're 9-6, and three of those six losses are by 3 points. They're talented, but they fall apart offensively and/or defensively for entire quarters or halves. They look very much like a team that could make it to the EC semifinals, only to lose the series in six or seven games.

I don't think he is overreacting.
This team is not that good. They are slightly better-than-average and they are going nowhere in the postseason.
If Wall goes down they could even miss the playoffs, which I think would be the best thing for this group.

They have had the easiest schedule in the league. I bet you before all is said and done they lose more than you think. They will not win more than 43 games.

I think Philly is going to get better and have a better record than the Wizards.
I think the Wizards are fixing to drop the next two games on the road against Toronto and Milwaukee. At 9 and 8 they will be in the eighth place for now.
I just have a feeling that this team is going to really massively disappoint.

With Otto and Beal's improvements, I don't see them losing more than 38 games.

Anybody else feel like we’ll be a better road team than home team this year? Pretty much the polar opposite of last season?

Me...but better than a BAD offensive team. I thought this was a 55 win team and now I’m thinking 41 win team. So the road will be slightly better than the home...

We’ll win more than 41 games. We dropped some games we shouldn’t have, but I wouldn’t be shocked if we swept a team like Houston or Memphis.

Re: The Wizards are officially in Trouble!
Ok so another take on this...the Wiz might be in trouble because the Celtics and 6ers might be much much better than the wiz. So much so that they bounce us in the first round and pretty much puts us in 4th place perpetually in the east.
We need to go after cousins and pay that luxury tax.

Agree that Celts are better than the Zards...and the Sixers have scary young talent (especially Simmons and Embiid) and they may someday soon be better than the Zards, although I don't think they are there yet. In either case, I don't think the Celts or Sixers are "much, much better" than the Zards at this point.
