A lot of people went shopping on Black Friday. Many probably purchased Christmas gifts. I assume some of them are going to wait until Christmas to give those gifts.

I did not go shopping. But that does not mean I am not a Gift Giver! God gave me the gift of life. I am a Wizard's fan. That's both a blessing and a curse.

I am giving this gift early because who knows what they record will be by Christmas if they keep it up at this pace.

On the 12 Days of Christmas there are gifts given. And that Spirit I'm going to come up with 12 grade ideas. Because this is a message for him I'm sure some of you will shoot these ideas down no matter what. Others will embrace them.

Here are 12 great ideas which I consider gifts to Wizards fans to pass on to Wizards' management.

Do that and even add this year's first-round pick if that's what it takes to get it done.

2. Implore upon Scott Brooks that he should be starting Wall, Bradley Beal, Kelly Oubre, Otto Porter, and Marcin Gortat.

I did not say that every gift would be original. Many of us know this already...

3. Heat maps/clutch stats

Many of us already know that the isolation basketball or hero ball that John Wall and Bradley Beal continue to try to execute does not work very effectively. However we are not present in the coaching "huddle" to know whether Brooks is calling these plays or whether his "stars" just keep jacking shots. I guess I should say whether they keep being the high usage players by design.

Maybe a coach like Scott Brooks needs to be shown heat maps and clutch shooting statistics in a way that he and the assistant coaches and more importantly his players understand. ISO ball does not work unless you've got LeBron James or Kyrie Irving or somebody like that trying to pull it off.

4. Tomas Satoransky is on your team. I think Scott Brooks knows him because he has put him in the game once or twice.

5. Chris McCullough, is a player who some think cannot play. That is what I get from many people (Washington Wizards fans) who post on Realgm.

Suggestion:. Take his Advanced stats from limited action and extrapolate them to protracted minutes.

What are his / 36 minutes stats as a Wizard this season?

Suspend your disbelief and try playing that guy 15 minutes just once. Make sure you play him some with the starters. See if he does not surprisingly play quite well.

6. Thanks.

One time you guys listen to me and signed a player for two consecutive 10-day contracts. Randy Wittman coached that guy. The Wizards record was 6-0. The player had a tremendous +/-. I believe he also had a nice P.E.R. I know the Wizards did not lose.

Thanks for once making me feel like I helped contribute something positive to this team. God gave me a dream. I posted something in bullets forever. I contacted the guys agent. And that player was signed with in about 36 hours if not less. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to try my own faith.

I'm only going to post the first 6 because I believe you guys are going to be so damn negative I'm not even going to waste my breath...

I think Chicago's building for the future - with Portis and Dunn being building blocks - can't imagine they'd make that trade even if you throw in a 1st rounder. Sato might be worth a 2nd rounder, and McCullough has zero trade value, imo.

Dunn sucks on office. great defender tho. you can have him. and portis.

but ya gotta give up next year's #1 unprotected. Keep mcculough and satoransky unless either can be a volume 3 at at least 37% and D player that is a willing passer and moves off ball well.

Bottom line. I violently agree with CCJ. Only about 1-2 players in any given year can you build a successful old school iso-ball offense around. Lebron being the main guy. Everyone either fails miserably deep in the playoffs like prime Rose and Jimmy Butler both failed in recent years.

fortunately our coaching FO gets that. This tank aint fun but hopefully they stay the course.

Scott Brook oth is the kind of iso ball. he is the guy, the only guy, that could win with harden, durant, and westbrook all on the same team. Cuz he lets westbrook iso ball his team mates to sleep. which allows the other 3-4 defenders rest and save their legs. In GS case, those legs launch 3's on volume and at a high clip.

cats out of the bag. You gotta move the ball, and move without the ball. and do so with a court littered with 3 pt shooters. This is one of those NBA trends that will never go away. It will take some kind of crazy rule change to alter the new paradigm.

on top of that, its a plug and play system. You can replace the most important player on GS right now, steph curry, with CJ mccollum and they still win 65 games and still win the title. might even be able to replace him with zach lavine. You can replace dray green with james johnson, jae crowder, ben simmons, giannis, (possibly even jordan bell) and a few other players and they barely miss a beat. durant can go down and even with (a healthy) iggy they still likely win the title. avery bradley can replace klay thompson and they still win.

so with all that said here's a title team you can acquire and win it all:

PG's: CJ mccollum (give up beal), lavine(not for sale yet), brogdan, dinwiddie, dragic
SG's: Crabbe, Hood, Bradley, harris, lee, and a few others
SF's: You're good, keep Porter But not a bad idea to trade beal or wall for ingles, covington, Harris
PF's: go get james johnson,
C's: go get gobert and ingles. (with wall and oubre)

Great team to build?
PG: CJ mccollum (for beal)
SG: Porter (keep)
SF: Ingles (trade wall and oubre and mahinmi)
PF: James johnson- play PG with CJ...like dray and steph...(trade markief and (3) #2 picks)
C: Gobert (for wall and oubre and mahinmi)

then go get a good back up PG and bunch of 3 and D players to bring off of the bench.

Actually, now that McCullough has logged a big 45 minutes, you might want to revisit your suggestion to extend his numbers to per 36 minutes.

.44 on 2-pointers
.20 on 3 pointers
.525 FT %
5.6 fouls per 36 minutes
.82 assists per 36 minutes

Rebounding & blocks are ok, but overall he's unplayable.

Love your trade idea, however, CCJ.

i change my mind on Dunn!!!!!! I take it back!!!

he still looks to score too much and misses the hot hand behind the arc all the time...and its quite frustrating when a guy hits 2-3 in a row and is wide open but he is a great PG in the making.

Now that ive had a better look at Dunn, i can confidently say that not only is he damn good on offense but he is the best defensive PG in the game right now. (quoting Larry legned), "IN. THE. GAME."

kinda want a take back on Portis too tbh. Dude is ballin'.

most importantly is that we are playing a ball movement player movement offense and it is finally working. young players are anticipating where the pass should go and cutting with a sense of purpose to hunt down shots.

If the bulls actually try to win from here on on out we can easily make the 6 or 7 seed. But i think an injury will occur or a trade to undermine the wins.

If our front office is smart, they trade out next year's #1 pick to the lakers for Kuzma and deng. LA would have taken that trade a week ago, now not so much.

as for hero/iso ball? i strongly recommend you guys switch styles. Its so much easier on the eyes and on the mind to root for a team that passes the ball to the open man and there are 5 guys on the court that can score in multiple ways so long as that ball keeps moving.

This is a guy that I might trade Wall to acquire (knowing that I could get a lot more than just Dunn for John Wall).

Yeah, those steals were incredible when he was in college. Not the kind of gambling for steals by overplaying passing lanes kinds of steals; but, the kind that Metta World Peace used to get back in the day. Gary Payton type plays that resulted in steals.

Dunn also had the distinction of having played many years in college and improving each season. That is a cerebral thinking man's kind of player. Not that John Wall isn't... Dunn is not as gifted & talented but he might be a lot more patient... He will also be a lot cheaper for the whole duration of his career.

I know (in my steel trap opinionated mind) the Wizards should have drafted Portis instead of moving up to draft Oubre.

Review my past posts about players such as Dunn and Portis. What did I say about them before the draft?

Kevon Looney

The Wizards might want to plan on trying to find a way to acquire him. Mike Scott is going to get paid. Kevon can play the 4 the 5 or the 3. Looney reminds me of Joe Smith that played with Minnesota and was a Maryland Terrapin. He also reminds me of Juwan Howard. He can get rebounds flat-footed.

The thing I like best about him is that he is a garbage man that cleans up around the basket. He is exactly what the Wizards need on this team.

Looney can also block shots.

Coaching tips for Scott Brooks

If I were Wizards coach I would have someone watching what other coaches were doing. For instance, right now I am watching the Warriors versus the Lakers. I consider Steve Kerr and Luke Walton to be better than Scott Brooks at coaching.

I think one of the failings of Scott Brooks is that he tends to play a shorter rotation that he should be playing. There's no way Tim Frazier should be getting 0 minutes. Just shows the coach doesn't know how to fit him in and doesn't appreciate Tim's effort. Close minded coach will play him or Satoransky and not both which I think is just stupid.

Nah, stupid is too strong....

Coaching tip number 8 is a suggestion that he play more players more minutes and he that he use similar minutes strategies as other coaches. the reason is that Collective Energy translates to better performance by all players on the team. Synergy. No way of consummate professional like Jason Smith shouldn't be able to get any playing time. No way at all. Just laziness on the coaching and sucking up to egos of the guys who want to play all the minutes and take all the shots.

I would get fired if I was an NBA coach. John Wall would sit him with the quickness if he were not getting it done. John makes all the money. He's a hell of a dude and he's a good guy. I know he's man enough to read this and feel me where I'm coming from...Like Herm Edwards said you play to win the game. There is no reason the world for Bradley Beal to feel like he has to go 11 for 27 (not bad percentage just high volume) but nobody else can take the last damn shot. Just bad coaching.

What I noticed in this Lakers game is that at the very end of the game Steve Kerr had all the game-leading plus-minus guys on the floor at the end of the game. Casspi, Looney, Iguodala-- those players that had the greatest plus-minus were on the floor with Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant. There's no Steph Curry and there's no Draymond Green but this team is still getting it done.

Luke Walton was a better Warriors coach then Steve Kerr IMO. The Lakers can beat the Wizards in part due to coaching, and that is why this game is in overtime right now.

Coaching tip number 8 with simply play more players and try to have your best players on the floor and try not to not play players even a guy like Chris McCullough deserve some minutes. Collective energy produces Synergy which will result in more wins. Take it from ccj Ken.

Where does he get those players and how does he fit them in and how does he manage their egos ?

Pop does not go too heavy on minutes. He also rests players certain games.

thanks buddy!! I never stopped reading the board here. always dropped in to see the "what everyone been up to" threads. I wish greendale was still around. Dude was the rock of the board early on. He was old so maybe he passed? God rest his soul.

You got the right idea on ball movement/player movement and i dont think anyone has a better eye for up coming talent than you in terms of picking that rock solid basketball player. rare is it that you over reach and when you do its like a hot shooter taking a rediculous shot, just a heat check, baby!

If you look at the Texas Southern Basketball team, there are at least three players that you need to consider when you are scouting future NBA Talent.

One of them is a center who is well over 7 feet tall and he is averaging a double-double and he is playing very good competition.

Turns out it was a blowout in the second half. What is relevant is that Mike Davis used to be the coach of Indiana. IPFW killed Indiana tonight. There are a couple of good prospects on the IPFW team as well....


Bonus gift: another TSU. Tennessee State University almost beat Texas tonight. Why is that significant?

Shaka Smart is a great coach and he coaches Texas...(However, as a Maryland fan, I'm looking at Dana Ford, who is perhaps a better Coach than Smart and Mark Turgeon) Also, Texas has a lottery pick playing Center.

Which Center do you think is better? Reed or the kid playing for Texas?

This is just some insight on how I find prospects. This time last season I was talking about Justin Patton before he went in the lottery.
