GT #22: Pistons vs Wizards (1 Dec 2017, 1:00 AM Gortat Time)

Another game, another loss in horison.
Without Wall, I assume, RJ and Ish Smith will be dangerous especially vs Frazier. I remember how he sucked in first game between both teams in Detroit.
The only hope for every white mans... or just Nat24 is Sato Heh ;-))
Unfortunatelly Beal probably will be ballhandler for some time so prepare yourself for silly TO's when it matters the most. Don't forget about missing FT's.
I am so low on Morris and Gortat now. If they play like vs 76rs even bench won't help us.
I want Smith out there. Dunno why he is collecting DNP's from Brooks.

Starting lineups:

Wizards

PG Tim Frazier
SG Bradley Beal
SF Otto Porter
PF Queen Morris
C Marcin Gortat

Pistons

PG Reggie Jackson
SG Avery Bradley
SF Stanley Johnson
PF Tobias Harris
C Andre Drummond

I think this is the one where I said Drummond would wipe the floor with Gortat - hoping to eat some shoe leather...

I'm almost expecting a win here, would certainly fit with the up and down season the Wizards have played so far.

The Sixers game was basically a scheduled loss and with Morris and Gortat having had some time to think about their poor performances lately a little homecooking might light the prerequisite fire under their asses.

Drummond seems to have a propensity to get himself in foul trouble when he goes up against the Wizards, wouldn't be surprised to see Washington involve him in the pick and rolls early and often.

We usually have the Pistons’ number, but with Wall out, all Avery Bradley have to focus on is just Beal. Notttttt looking forward to that matchup.

We have such problems right now that I care less about 1 W/L and more about:

-Will Beal or Otto man up and take over a game? Only playing them individually down the stretch in Philly was directly calling on one of them to lead.

-Will Gortat and Morris show up as starters, or keep getting outplayed by the bench?

-Will KO keep attacking the rim aggressively?

-Is the bench’s performance in Minnie and Philly a fluke, or an emergence?

If 3 of 4 of those break the right way, we’ll win.

I wish Otto was 2-3 inches taller. There’d be no reason not to start that lineup most nights.

Otto is 6'9 with a 7'2 wingspan. his issue is lack of strength unfortunately.

but imagine Wall and Sato as the ball handlers/playmakers allowing Oubre/Porter/Beal to have more spot up shooting opportunities.

I'm surprised that odds-wise we are actually favorites tonight.

Beal with an early ball-handling related turnover.

Gortat is doing a very nice job in pick-and-roll defense so far this game.

Man, I can't believe how cheaply Detroit acquired Avery Bradley. That guy is so good - a great defender and a relentless backdoor cutter. They traded Marcus Morris for Bradley AND a 2nd round pick.

Wow, Oubre making an effort to be a facilitator, some nice decision making from him tonight.

I’m not watching the game, but for some reason I thought this game was in Detroit.

Yeah, that guy has been around forever. He's really had a strange career. He's been a 20 minute per game bench player for 10 years now. Usually guys like that improve enough at some point so that they're marginal starters during their peak. Either that, or they peak as bench players but can't hang around the league once they lose a step.
