Michael Foster Jr, Devon Dotson, Hamidou Diallo, Gabe Kalscheur & Malik Fitts all signed to Exhibit 10 contracts then released in the past day or two. All presumably headed for the GoGo roster.

Guards & forwards but no centers yet.

Wonder if they are planning on signing a Center with their last two way contract.

For the life of me I cannot understand why Diallo is not on some team's regular roster.

He's an elite athlete & a 6'5" guard with a 7'0" wingspan.
Over the last two seasons, he's posted above average scoring in both numbers & TS%.
Yet, despite that fact, he doesn't shoot the 3 well at all, & his FT% isn't great either (though he gets to the line quite a lot).

His other numbers, overall, are above average.

I'm sure there's good reason; I just don't understand what it is. Maybe he's turned into a sub-par defender?

His career is on the line. It'll be interesting to see how he responds.

Worth noting that Diallo played @2200 minutes for OKC in his first 2.5 seasons before being traded to Detroit.

People are obsessed with the 3 in the modern league. Diallo can't shoot it, he's a slasher and a banger of a guard that does everything reasonably well except that one skill.

That's certainly true. All the same, last year he scored 21 pts per 40 minutes at an extremely efficient .593 TS%.
I.e., he wasn't an offensive liability.

GoGo took an undersized defensive shooting guard that couldn’t shoot named Goodwin and had some success with developing him.

Can’t wait to see what they can do with Diallo. I’m always going to root for a guy that comes into a game with energy on defense and grabs loose balls, deflects passes & steals possessions.

And as PIF said he comes with length & athletic traits. GoGo games will be fun this year.

Glad we were able to use that final two-way spot on a 5, but I thought there were betters 5s available. Trevion Williams, for example.

Butler Jr. is basically a stick, but flashed some nice potential at FSU. I really thought he should've stayed in school another year to develop, and last year did nothing to change my mind on that.

This dude neads to be lifting heavy 5 times a week and need to be eating 5 heavy lean high protein, sizable meals a day. Instead of creamer in hi coffee he needs to just do scoops of creatine.

1 terrible college year.
Undrafted in 2022.
221 absolutely awful rookie minutes for Portland.

I have a lot of faith in our new FO, but this signing is a head-scratcher.

I'm pretty sure he's just there to dust the cobwebs off the ceiling fans and to change the lightbulbs in the locker room without a ladder.

You can't teach 7ft. But you can teach a kid how to eat, lift, box out, set screens, hit ft, how to rebound.

There's potential there. Dawkins said he envisions this team being loaded with two-way players who can switch. Butler could certainly be that with the right development team. He's shown flashes of being able to stretch the floor and block shots a solid clip.

He seems to have a similar physical profile to Chet Holmgren...problem is that this is where all the similarities appear to end...
