It does look like every year you can find a center that has NBA ability. Last year there was Christian Wood - who's now a rotation player for Detroit. This year, there are players like Dragan Bender - who's been up and down between the NBA and G League - now on a 10 day contract with GS, and there's Justin Patton - who's raw but I think more talented than Wood and is starting to make 3's. No offense to AP fans, but these guys are better than AP.

I watched the last 4 minutes, and it was worth it. GoGo's made a great comeback - more than 10 points - London Parrentes scored all of his 12 points in that time. GoGo's tied it, but weren't able to go ahead. We lost at the buzzer - as Marial Shayok made a very impressive 3 with a hand in his face. I don't know what's up with Garrison Mathews - he had bad stats.

Go go’s have played hard all year, although I’m sure it’s a challenge when the line up keeps changing due to player call ups & Jalen Jones playing with the national team. Or maybe it helps lol.

Mathews, since returning from that ankle injury has had a few poor shooting games (compared to his hot start to the season). Probably why they pulled him from the starting lineup.

The Capital City Go-Go have claimed Jordan Bell on waivers.

The Go-Go are the G League affiliate of the Wizards.

Bell was recently waived by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Liked Bell coming out of Oregon. He was an impactful rebounder and shotblocker with the Warriors as a rookie.

Bell's looked completely incapable of doing anything on the offensive end in the NBA, but this is what the G League is for - giving opportunities to players like him to develop.

I liked Bell too. Glad to see him in our corral.

He was quite good as a rookie -- he'll never be a scorer, but at least he was really efficient on his low usage. & the rest of what he did, overall, was significantly above average.

Then, weirdly, he got a fair amount worse in his second year. The stuff he did well as a rookie went downhill, & his scoring efficiency did too.

This year he bounced back some in his minutes w/ Minnesota -- mostly b/c he rebounded so well. Other stuff not so much.

He's got a lot of work to do this Summer if he's going to continue his NBA career.

And yes, the G League has "suspended" their season. https://gleague.nba.com/news/nba-g-league-to-suspend-2019-20-season/

St Louis native and Bradley Beal paisano Jordan Goodwin tore up the first couple games this weekend, averaging 29.5 ppg 8 boards 3 steals, shooting 55% from 3 on 7+ attempts per game. He came back to earth in today's game (18 pts, missed all 5 3fga, but 8 boards), but still, nice to see the potential.

Joel Ayayi has been key for them, playing at PG but filling the column with assists, rebounds, steals, all the gluey bits. His stat line from this last game is nice: 15pts (5-6 shooting, 1-2 3FG) 7 assists 14 boards. 5 TO's but I like the experiment with him as a tall PG. It forces him to play with the ball in his hands and use his high BBIQ instead of playing passive waiting for the ball to find him.

Adding Greg Monroe is a nice veteran pick up to mentor young bigs. Good footwork, savvy ball fakes, spin moves, veteran tricks, fundamental rebounding. He's thicker than I last saw him, but looked surprisingly spry in the high level Russian leagues last year:

I did not expect to see Greg Monroe on the Wiz G League team, but yeah - maybe he can be a mentor. Great to see a guys like Goodwin and Ayayi get a chance to develop. Both have to show they can knock down 3's consistently. Same with Todd.

Some highlights from their first game. They won after falling behind 19-0 to start the game. Looks like they have some actual prospects on the team, which is cool.

Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

These look like glorified pick-up games, but at-least Winston is getting some reps, hopefully he'll be ready to take Neto's spot next year.

He has a quick, high release too. His defender will not be able to leave him at all. If the other parts of his game come together, he could pan out as a real good player. He is going to have some significant off-ball gravity.

That was fun to watch. Todd shoots the 3 extremely well, but at this point... that's it. That's all he does well.

OTOH, he is extremely young. Nice to have someone with potential on our G League team.

Given the increasing importance of the 3 ball in the NBA, having the ability to nail the 3 alone is a very good start to an NBA career.

I'm actually very excited about Todd's potential on the defensive end of the court. I'm certain Isaiah has a lot to learn as far as defensive principles are concerned but if he does he has the physical tools to be an outstanding defender. He's long, quick and a fluid athlete.
