With a bad loss at home to the Cavs, the home stand continues against the Pelicans. The Wiz have played decent defense since the beginning of the season but haven't put too many 48 minute games. Here's hoping that Otto Porter can come back to give the lineup a boost.

The Pelicans are 15-15 and coming off an OT loss to the Nuggets. They, in #SoWizards fashion, choked a big lead to play a close one in Denver. Anthony Davis has been hobbled. Demarcus Cousins (who we all want to be DC-bound somehow) has been putting up big numbers.

How dominated will the Wiz front court be? Can the Wiz guard the likes of Jrue Holiday? Yours truly will be in the arena and...

I'M NOT OPTIMISTIC!

Some of that is clearly due to Wall missing a significant chunk of time, but that doesn't explain all of it. They are running way more isolation sets, and they're not moving the ball quickly enough to get good looks from 3-point range.

It's not all bad news though. The Wizards' free throw rate has risen from 25th best last year to 8th best this year.

Gortat can slow down Cousins, but... who in the wide world o wiz is going to stop Anthony Davis? Are you telling me that far less than 100% Otto is going to contain Davis? Or a far less than 100% Keiff is going to contain Davis? Put Mahinmi in at PF? It'll take 5 minutes for him to foul out. Same with Smith. Is it too late to sign Christian Wood and play him tonight?

Our best bet is probably flipping those matchups with Morris on Cousins and Gortat on Davis.

Either way, I've already decided that this game is a good candidate to skip.

Between Rondo exploiting our terrible pick and roll coverage and the Pelicans towers destroying our front court I really don't see a static offense chucking up jumper after jumper being a recipe for success.
