Today was Martin Luther King Day.
I have a lot of good things to say but I just want to take some time to reflect.
The Wizards and the Maryland Terrapins play today but I did not watch the games....

This piece was written by Mark Stein of the New York Times. It appeared in the January 15th Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

This is very good news to me.
Objectively speaking a top-4 seed is good for
home court in the first round. That journalist thinks the Wizards are in the hunt.
Also, though some might consider this also to be setting the bar low;
being in the top-10 is good (even with Milwaukee at 9 and Washington 10).

In 16 years, or 17 years of posting, this thread has presented the strangest set of challenges...
Viruses, problems with Chrome, problems with my smart phone.
YET, God is still good all the time.,
The Wizards have a lot of things POSITIVE to focus on...

Thanks for starting this thread. One thing to be positive about is, the wizards dont have a single bad apple on the team. Not one bad guy that you look at and say “he is a horrible person”. We dont even have a volatile jerk that is a good player. I know that may be a low bar..but I actually like that we have a team full of off the court role models-

The Wiz are on pace for 46 wins. And if they beat sub .500s in the 2nd half... may crack 50!
Kelly Oubre is a keeper!

Kelly Oubre is a keeper!
Oubre's been increasing his trade value.

every good team needs a Kelly off the bench.... a young aggressive guy that can defend and hit a three...plus got some heart and a ton of swag!

It is certainly possible.
I could see them getting to 52 wins, possibly.

I remember a few of those posters that overlap my time here and they did add to the positive fabric of the board. I am old enough to remember when Googs and Cheney where the only thing we had to cheer for on the bullets. We had a bunch of fun but side show type of players like Bol, George M, Mugsy and others...then we had a few good years with Gil, AJ and tough juice...the melt down/gun gate...followed by the optimism of the WallStar years...which has turned into the Wall and Beal years. Look if we end up being the Raptors of DC...it would suck cause we never put anyone around our Kyle and Derozen...but at least we will be relevant and have a fun team to watch for a decade. BUT I’m not giving up on a ring...lets get that other superstar...like Boogie and see what we can do.

Washington outscored Detroit 62-32 in quarters 2 and 3.
Very good effort after falling behind 10 points on the road.

Ignoring salary the core of Wall, Beal, Porter & Oubre is still very young and one the best foursomes in the NBA. We consider Wall ancient but fact is he's still only 27. With Oubre's continued the development, outside of Golden State... not many teams can matchup with those 4 on the floor at the same time.
Sato has turned into a top notch reserve.
We are literally one decent big man away from having a great chance at getting to the NBA finals.
