Boogie to Washington...is this even a thing?

Is there anyway possible that the Wiz can pick up Boogie at the trade deadline or in FA during the summer?
Also is it possible to pick Boogie up and still keep Wall and Beal because honestly, the Boogie to Washington rumors are only relevant because Boogie and Wall are close friends.
Could we realistically have a Wall, Beal and Boogie big 3??? And if so what would it cost?
If we did get Boogie what would be the ideal starting 5?

The question is why would we want him? We already got a team full of players who can't/won't play a lick of defense and you want to add another. I lump Cousins and C. Anthony in the same category. Talented me first scorers that don't make their teams better.

I would want him...possibly coupled with a coach that pushed them to play as a unit on defense.

We could probably get him for Porter and a first-round pick. I don't think I would want him though. Not at that price

There aren’t any boogie to DC rumors. We could easily acquire him and keep Wall and Beal on the team, that team just wouldn’t be any good

Ok I'm not the biggest Boogie fan but you must be on some kind of drugs think this is true. CCJ would love this. BEAL WALL Boogie on a actuall on the team . they need a change and it does not start with Wall or Beal.

No shot. Pelicans aren't trading him and we couldn't afford to keep him even if we did.

I cant imagine that team being bad...and I dont think it upgrading at PF/Center could possibly make us worse. I agree we need a change if we are going to make a push to be better than a consistent playoff team.

I thought it was “we cant afford him” thing more than him not wanting to come here in Free agency. Is there no way we can afford another “max” and keep Wall and Beal without moving Otto?

The Pelicans are starved for any kind of success, I see them holding out hope to make an appearance in the playoffs and then roll the dice in the offseason to see if they can persuade Cousins to resign.
Chances are slim to none if you ask me, I don't see him being back in New Orleans.
What wouldn't surprise me in the least is if Grunfeld made a move for him in the offseason via a sign and trade.
Porter is the Wizards reluctant max player and after a disappointing 2017/18 campaign the Wizards will probably look to shake it up.
We all know Leonsis isn't going to hold Ernest accountable for the disastrous 2016/17 offseason and the pattern that's emerged over the years is that when Grunfeld starts feeling the heat he's either going to fire his headcoach or double down on stupid by pushing what little chips he has into the middle.
For Cousins, the best move would probably to seek out a sign and trade to an organization with strong leadership from top to bottom. I could see him finally living up to expectations in places like Boston, Miami or San Antonio.

Ernie will make a feeble attempt, but we have no chance

A lot of people are anti-Boogie Cousins and they have always been that way. Those same people that say he cannot play defense don't look at defensive rating or box plus minus. What they tend to do is say that Boogie Cousins is not as good as Anthony Davis.
Boogie would make the Wizards elite... If they did not gut the team to get him.
It's not happening...

I think that would be the issue. And we have a GM who can't build depth through the draft, value FAs, etc

AD putting up 45 & 16 with 2 blocks with a TS of 55% and +/- of +11 in a Win AT BOSTON is not why people think Boogie isnt good...
Its because in that same game Cousins had 7 turnovers, 5 fouls, with a TS of 42% and +/- of -6... Thats why.
People really need to watch him play. its depressing. He is constantly the slowest player up and down the court and has the worst body language when he isnt dominating and getting foul calls.
The best thing for him would be to get traded to the Cavs. He needs a Lebron / Alpha that would keep him in line.

I see a lot of positive and negative from Boogie. One game is a microcosm. You will not post when he has a 40-20 game. There are games that his plus-minus is better than Anthony Davis's.
You will not change your opinion no matter what I say.
The guy's a multiple All-Star and Olympian for no damn reason.

Tired of arguing about that guy. He's not going to be a Wizard.

Agreed - he isn't going to be a Wizard. And I was for signing him until I watched him repeatedly dog it on D in the Wizards game. Then I followed the next few games - he dogged anything that required him to get back on D.
I don't think he can be coached out of this - I think it is an entrenched habit and I think it will further Wall's behavior as well.
So, I would vote no... I think he is the wrong guy for this team.

This team already half-asses it about 1/2 their games. Get Boogie and they may show up a 1/4 of the games. But I do wonder what he can do in the playoffs if he has a coach that makes him play down low most of the time. Maybe a two-man game with Beal and Wall. Would be interesting to have a dominant big man and how that would open up the rest of the floor. On the defensive end, you pretty much need an athletic defensive four to overcome his lapses and that's not Kieff, Mike Scott or Jason Smith.

I was at the NOLA game a few weeks ago. Saw the same things. I thought a new change of scenery would make things different but its the same.

I see Demarcus as a power forward with either Marcin Gortat or Ian Mahinmi at C.
Of course he can also play center.
