I'm assuming Porter plays with the hip but if AD plays, he'll get 40-20. I'd have Brad cover Rondo and hope he can conserve some energy defensively. Mirotic concerns me off the bench.

The Wizards really haven't played well in 4.75 games. Their last really good stretch was the 1st quarter of the Bucks game when they ran the Bucks out of the gym. Since then, they've been outscored by 33 points, or roughly 7 points per game. Fortunately, they held on to eek out a win against Milwaukee and they managed to win an ugly one in Miami thanks to Beal's hot shooting, but the Wizards need to get back on track. The quality of basketball they have played lately is not going to be good enough to hang onto homecourt advantage. They need to pick it up.

I think im a PPA believer. This matches up with what ive been watching.
Porter has been amazing, aggressive and efficient. Beal has been outstanding but has had a few stinkers recently, but has been the clear star on our team at times. Gortat is much better than earlier in the year. Sato is an absolute gun. Morris has been good, not great. Oubre and Scott have not had a good game in a long while now. And Mahinmi has been marginally better than earlier in the year.

It's pretty close. I think it overrates Frazier a little bit, and underrates Morris and Oubre a little bit, but it's not really a fault of the stat. Morris' and Oubre's flexibility on defense to switch and match up at 3 or 4 positions helps the team defensively in ways that don't show up in the box score. And if that effect doesn't show up in the box score, it's difficult for a box score summary stat to capture it.
There's no doubt in my mind that any coach in the league would rather have Oubre over Frazier.

It's weird how Sato can be so skilled and show such a soft touch on his runner, but he's such a bad shooter from the perimeter unless he has a long time to get himself set.

watching Holliday repeatedly try to take Sato 1 on 1 because he's white is hilarious so far

Oubre playing with starters vs Oubre playing with scrubs off the bench is night and day. A good coach would use Oubre more as a core guy I think

Why does Scott Brooks hate small ball so much. I swear we have the most simple minded coach in the league.

Things look promising so far. I'm pretty happy with most of the looks Washington is getting. They stopped knocking them down in the last few minutes, but if they keep getting those good looks, they'll be fine. Gortat is really outplaying Okafor.
Beal has been patient. New Orleans is trapping him off the screens and not letting him get good looks, so rather than forcing it, Beal is making the right read and swinging the ball away.

lol this lineup: Sessions-Meeks-Oubre-Morris-Mahinmi.
yes, Morris is the starter playing with the bench.

I think Beal has been great so far. Consistently making the right decision.

or the opposite. get trapped, look at the wide open guy, choose to deflate the ball anyways, then pass it to a covered player that can't create his own shot with 10 seconds on the shot clock .
rinse and repeat. killing all ball movement. Our only offense that quarter, came from Otto and Satoransky initiating ball screen action, Beal just has no feel for it.
