I was way more optimistic heading into this final 12 game stretch than I should have been.
This group looks cooked, the starters, the bench, they just look overmatched in all facets of the game, and there's not a single guy stepping up to stop the tide.
John Wall may be back soon, but I doubt that's going to be enough, the Wizards look beaten and they play like a team that had its collective confidence zapped.
Expect much of the same against the Spurs, a big fat L and yet another home loss.
How many of those has it been now, 8 of the last 10? Ouch, I feel bad for the fans paying money to see this listless group perform at home.

I think the losing is for the best.
Bill and Ted... Bert and Ernie...Err, I mean Ernie Grunfeld and Ted Leonsis have earned this.
Signing Ramon Sessions it's just like last season. Adding another stale veteran who does not play defense is never the answer. Tim Frazier busted his ass for this team all year and broke his nose playing hard. In typical morale killing style the Wizards added Ramon Sessions. Go to the bench Tim Frazier. This is absolutely no different than last season when Satoransky virtually never played after they added Bogdanovic to lose next to Brandon Jennings.
These losses with Gortat and Mahinmi basically sitting on the bench in favor of Markieff Morris shows just how ineffective Ernie Grunfeld has been in team building. The salary between Jason Smith Marcin Gortat and Ian Mahinmi is an albatross. I think Dewayne Dedmon is better than all three. He earns less than all three.
I want them to keep losing at home so people stop buying Wizards tickets. Maybe Ted Leonsis will just give up and sell the damn team.
I really won't mind at this point.

Well back to the game at hand. I actually expect the Wizards to win this one. But I have no real reason to point out why. Just trying to be optimistic for this game.

The Spurs are a much different team on the road. So there’s that
Aldridge is playing at an amazing level right now. And Danny Green will shut down Beal.
That’s basically the game right there.

Perhaps they will win because everyone like me is being too negative.
I expect guys like Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray to score pretty easily. Tony Parker was also very effective last game. Last game Kyle Anderson and Manu Ginobili both really killed Wizards. I do not expect that to happen again. However, this time I think it will be Danny Green.
The Wizards will probably focus on denying LaMarcus Aldridge the ball. I don't think he can kill them as badly as he did last game.
Bradley Beal will probably have a bounce-back game. He will drop 35 at least. I could also see Kelly Oubre and Tomas Satoransky having big games. Both of them need to attack the basket frequently. The Spurs do not have great rim protectors.
Lastly, it would not shock me to see John Wall return this game.

Satoransky said last night that they have two more games without John. He may have slipped a secret.

That's exactly the right number of games. There are nine games left and I think John needs to play about 7 games if he is truly healthy before these playoffs begin.
I would kind of prefer that he shut it down for the season. If in this past week he is experiencing swelling there is no way two games is enough... Unless they are conceding that he is always going to have some problems with that knee.
I am hoping that he is not experiencing swelling anymore.

Being careful with Wall's minutes is going to be important, but the guy I'd like to sit down the stretch is Porter.
To me now should be the time we give Devin Robinson some burn backing up Oubre so that we have a contingency if Porter's hip issues finally get the best of him.
While the 5th spot is still in reach there's very little change the Wizards catch the Sixers in the 4th so we might as well rest guys up and play for the best matchup in the first round and to me that's Boston.

Careful there. Stevens is a much better coach. Horford has had big games vs. Wiz in postseason. Rozier is playing well. Also, Miami and Milwaukee are winning games.
You could **** around and end up 8th seed.

But we have 3 sets of b2bs I believe so he will only get like 4 games in

At most the Wizards will win five of the last nine games. That would give them a record of 45 wins and 37 losses.
I expect the Wizards will win 44. Or 43 games. I believe they will finish in a tie with Milwaukee or Miami for 6/7 They will IMHO at this time end up with the seventh seed after the tiebreaker. It is still very possible that they end up with the 8th seed. I see no way they get the 4th seed and unlikely they finish 5th.
Their worst outcome finish is 6th where they will be eliminated by Cleveland. That right now is fairly likely. I expect Milwaukee MIGHT surpass them, however. That and Miami may tie them with 43 wins.
The Wizards finishing eighth is almost as bad as sixth; because Toronto will take them out.

Their best bet is the seventh seed in the hope to beat Boston in a rematch.

It also helps that they came back to earth and everyone knows that they clearly need him. All in all it was the best for all parties.

I've been saying it for 2 weeks. Idc about seedings right now. There are a thousand teams in the east and west with basically the same record. I will concentrate more when it gets under 5. I'm definitely not sold on the notion that Philly will overtake Cleveland

Cleveland IMO is a virtual LOCK for third, now that they have K Love back. That is, unless they tank by resting players down the stretch.
