Biggest problem moving forward?

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Tue Jun 19, 2018 1:52 pm

Leonsis just doesn't get it (as shown by the Caps Stanley Cup head coach walking away)?

Ernie (enough said)?

Brooks?

John Wall (Supermax and/or atmosphere he brings to the club)?

Mediocre fan base?

IMO a tough question, but I think EG edges Ted out as the biggest problem for the franchise.

Ted's ego was terrible before the Stanley Cup. Now it's likely to be completely out of control.

It all starts at the top and there's little reason to be optimistic as a Wizards fan going forward. I'm probably about one more horrific move from Ernie away from dumping this team and finding a new one.

I chose Ted cause he is willing to let Ernie “Ernie” indefinitely. Now that he has won The Cup, he’s gonna double-down on Ernie to “Prove doubters wrong”

It's definitely Ernie. Albeit Ted signs him, he's not hands on. EG is making all the decisions and the signings and has put the team in this situation for years to come.

The GM handed all of our cap space to Mahinmi/Nicholson/Smith and traded all of our 2016&2017 draft picks for nothing.

Ted is the entire problem. EG sucks but a good owner would have gotten rid of him 10 years ago.

He believes he's going to win a championship with Ernie as general manager, proving the fans wrong. I think he also quoted MLK at the Stanley Cup parade.

Terd stumbled into a Stanley Cup. I can't see EGgo stumbling into anything. Ernie gets a new owner, I don't see him being successful unless the owner calls all the shots and is a basketball genius. Terd gets a new GM, he might get lucky again. On the other hand, as some have indicated here and elsewhere, a new owner would HAVE to replace the Grunfeld, so maybe this is a trick question.

I voted Ernie, but would love to see both of them gone, and Terd, now's the time to be a venture capitalists and SELL, SELL, SELL. I couldn't afford the new tickets, but at least I might have a shot at a decent team, without ridiculous Black History Month campaigns.

Ted, he signs Ernie's checks and has decided to keep him this long. Also would not surprise me if he really liked and pushed for some of EG's moves.

 Ted would rather Ernie be GM until he retires rather than make a change.

I believe that goes against the... ahem... calorie cap.

Ernie must have some dirty laundry on Ted or something. Either that or Ted loves to torture Wizards fans.

My order.

Ernie
Ted
Walls contract

Ted cause it starts at the top

Should have replaced Ernie in 2010. Reset everything with rookie John Wall.
