I thought both games today were really good. It's funny how the two best players in the world have the same results in international play.

I DVRd the France/Argentina game and watched it. After that game, it's hard to enjoy the Uruguay/Portugal game or appreciate it, even though it was better than most of the early matches. That was unreal.

Agree, both matches were very enjoyable to watch for me. France has some real Gazelle's once they get in the open field with the ball, they always have to get fouled because the defender cannot keep up. The 2nd match was very enjoyable as-well, with both teams battling tis that last goal attempt in stoppage, it was a real war.

I've been watching most of the games. The Portugal v Uruguay game was very good. Two physical teams going at it. Sad to see Ronaldo out, but Uruguay deserved to win. All the teams I was pulling for are now out, with the exception of Mexico. So lets go El Tri!

Definitely the most open world cup I've seen. All remaining teams have a legit shot at winning.

Well, the right side is wide open, but Japan isn’t winning lol.
Not going through a stacked Belgium team, Brazil, and then France, the 3 best teams in the tournament, only to then face Spain/England in the final.

So much for Spain, they dominated possession, out shot the Russians but couldnt score.

Russia the lowest ranked team advances, too-bad for Spain

Tiki Taka'd themselves to death
Croatia advances after Modric missed a PK at the end of extra time. Both goal keepers for Denmark and Croatia were spectacular today.

I felt so bad for Japan but if Belgium could play like they did in the last 30 throughout, they are dangerous. It will be a great match vs Brazil.

This was the first action I have watched. Catching the last 20 minutes of Belgium versus Japan was really awesome.

Lukaku with the amazing dummy play, high IQ right there letting the ball pass him

I'll say this, the drop off between teams from a skill perspective is probably the smallest I've ever seen it in this competition.
The Samurai Blue were physically outmatched but their ball skills were right up there with the Belgians.
Even teams like Iran, Egypt and Morocco showed some class in this tournament, makes me start to wonder how the US is ever going to catch up if those tiny nations look more skillful and organized than what you're seeing in North America.
This Columbia team without James isn't really good either and they're making England earn it, very disappointing effort from the team that briefly looked like they may have finally gotten over their world cup jitters.

England Columbia game set international soccer back ten years.
Booo Columbia. Cynical, faking, whining, complaining.
Glad England won it though they were nothing to write home about.

France/Belgium is going to be one heck of a match, with the winner i think winning the whole thing. I'm glad to see Neymar not in it anymore, with all of his theatrics.

That was painful watching Brazil flop all over the field today. What a joke. Such a talented team and I understand the strategy, but to me, that's not soccer/futbol. Took away from Belgium's great win. Neymar spent more time on the ground, then he did on the field. Maybe if he worked more on his shooting than his histrionics, they would win more in the Cup.
