Beal trade Rumor

Don't kill the messenger. This guy went into a Laker forum claiming to have inside info with the Wizards. Just dropping it off in here to see your thoughts on it. Could be bs

Hey guys Wizards insider here. Just got some juicy info I thought I'd pass along. Take it with a grain of salt.

The Lakers contacted the Wizards Tuesday about Bradley Beal availability. Wizards told them everybody is on the table. Of course LA made them a offer. So the offer is Deng/Ingram/Hart for Beal. Wizards of course didn't accept it, they told the Lakers give them a week to look at the pros and cons of the deal.

As of today im told the Wizards are 60/40 on making this deal. They are in love with Ingram's potential despite the fact they don't really need help on the wings with Porter Jr making big money and Oubre is solid off the bench and still growing as a player. They plan to play Ingram as an oversized sg. They are looking at his film as we speak studying his lateral mobility and his quickness on defense. If they feel he can play sg they will make this deal no from what im hearing. While they like Wall/Beal as a fit, they don't trust their chemistry. They feel Wall and Beal lowkey are jealous of one another in a quiet manner. Also they think they need another playmaker offensively that can create for himself and for others. Beal doesn't create for others as well. Ingram does, as he has played pg for the Lakers in spurts, Washington loves that about Ingram that he is versatile.

Nothing has been confirmed so far, im told they will be back in contact with the Lakers probably early next week. But from what im hearing right now they are leaning towards accepting this deal. Some key voices however prefers to keep Beal, they think he has potential to be the franchise guy over Wall.

Will keep you posted in the next few days, a decision will be made soon.

*Also this tells me the Lakers are confident Kawhi is coming next year if they are trading for Beal right?

I would hope this story is fake because that would be a terrible move even for EG.

Gotta love the internet. EG is not bright but he's not stupid either. He's been in the game for over 20 years. Only if they threw in a first-round pick but Deng has two more years at $18M a year! They would have to take Mahinmi. That would be a horrific trade, basically Beal for Ingram.

BUT, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wiz are gauging the market on Beal, just to see what they can get for him and try to keep costs low when the SuperWallMax hits.

Not even Ernie is that stupid. 2 more years of Deng's contract? LOL

Would be better to cut ya'll out and trade for one year of Leonard if he was looking to cut salary.

FOH.

This is BS. I have no inside info, but this can't be true. If anything, it is Wall that would be moved. LA needs a PG because LBJ will not want to play through the growing pains of the young guys in LA. His window is short. According to reports from LA, they are looking for creators, and Beal is not that. Wall is. I can see LA going after Melo, Wall, Love. But not Beal.

We didn’t trade beal for harden when okc offered...I don’t see it happening...but then again...that should’ve happened

Sure, second-guessers, back-seat drivers. It would have been a great trade. Nobody knew Harden was going to be an MVP, though they do share a certain, shall we say, non-clutch quality. Beal more about the regular season and Harden more about the playoffs.

Maybe Ingram will grow to his potential...
But maybe beal has another level...it’s a toss up
But I see taking on deng is enough for Ingram now we need value for giving up beal

What am I missing here? 2 more years on Ingram’s rookie deal, 3 more on Hart’s.

Wall Sato
Hart Rivers
Oubre Brown
Porter Ingram Green
Howard Mahinmi

Wish they would take Wall instead.

If you make the trade with LA it's because you project Ingram as a starter...not as a backup. Getting Ingram is the only reason you agree to trade them Beal. I like Hart but I see him as more of a backup than a starter.

But I could certainly see the Lakers preferring Beal to Wall. They've got PGs and ballhandlers in Ball and Rondo (and, of course, LeBron)...what the Lakers lack is a shooter like Beal.

Either way, they’ve gotta take back Mahinmi or keep Deng, or give us a 2019 1st.

Beal is worth Ingram and Hart, subtracting value with Deng’s contract dump is not equal value.

Ernie? What does this have to do with Ernie?

This is coming from Ted. & I've pretty much been expecting it -- & have said so here a few times in the last several weeks. I was worried it might be Porter on the way out, but in retrospect I realize that was an unnecessary worry. Wall is sacrosanct, & Porter is easy to get along with, while Beal/Wall are seen to be rivals or jealous of one another or something....

From the Lakers POV, it makes perfect sense -- that's obvious. They are all in. Which, given LeBron's age, means RIGHT NOW, so players who are developing no longer have a lot of value to them; that's not what they need to get on top of GS & Houston. They need, or think they need, firepower. Leonard, obviously, & Beal makes perfect sense for along with Leonard.

They don't need a point guard -- they have Ball, who had a very good rookie year & got better as it went along. & they have Rajon Rondo.

Deng is a negative, so this is basically Beal for Ingram & Hart. I'd try to add something, goes w/o saying. Either one more young player -- I doubt they'd do Kuzma, but how about Mo Wagner? Or a R1 pick. Or Malik Newman & a R2 pick? (I don't even think Newman is actually signed yet by LAL, is he?)

But, even as structured this is not the bad deal you-all are making it out to be. Especially when you realize that, one way or another, one of the three -- or rather either Beal or Porter -- had to go.

Josh Hart had a tremendous rookie year. He's not a big time scorer, not yet at least, but he had almost a 60% TS%, he rebounds like crazy, & he's just a terrifically smart player. & Ingram is still just 20 years old; I think the sky's the limit for him.

Beal had a breakout year in 2016-17. If he'd had another one this year, you could predict stardom for him. But he didn't; he went a little backwards instead.

I like Beal. I wanted us to pick him. I was happy when we did. I supported him here when half this board was ready to give up on him. I still like him. But change happens, & this trade would be good for the Wizards. We aren't challenging for anything right now, not even in the East. It's time to change things up, & this would be a good start.

Btw, what gave Ted the b@lls to think in this direction?
Spoiler:
The Stanley Cup.

& where does this thinking come from?
Spoiler:
The famous ten point plan:
"Ask yourself the big question: 'Can this team--as constructed--ever win a championship?' If the answer is yes -- stay the course and try to find the right formula -- if the answer is no, then plan to rebuild. Don't fake it--really do the analytics and be brutally honest. Once you have your answer, develop the game plan to try to REALLY win a championship. Always run away from experts that say, 'We are just one player away.' Recognize there is no easy and fast systemic fix. It will be a bumpy ride--have confidence in the plan--'trust and verify: the progress -- but don't deviate from the plan.'"

I mean, the Lakers do need shooting.

Thing is, they want Kawhi Leonard too but I guess from their perspective they can give assets up for Beal and sign Kawhi next summer.

Wall & Mahinmi for Deng, Ball, and Ingram. Wall same agent as LeBron. Wall very upset that the athetic big we got is Dwight Howard, who likes Brad better than John. Wiz also agree to sign LiAngelo to final roster spot. Leonard gets traded at deadline (after sitting out entire season to that point) to Lakers. Lakers win championship in 5 games over Wizards.

60/40 chance this happens, Ernie studying the tape right now in Vegas with Magic.

I’ll keep you all updated on this.

Laker fans didn't make this up, he claimed to be a Wizards insider. A lot of Lakers fans are iffy about the deal also. Not because we think Ingram is better but because Ingram is only 20 has shown some nice skills on offense and defense. He has a ton of potential. Its also just hard to let go of your young players when you were expecting to watch them grow into the players you think they can be. Plus someone was saying if we did this trade we'd have to trade Ball also before next summer to have a max slot. Guess we'll see this week coming up though

Still, Nat gets the point (a few more intelligent posts that I see quoted, & I'm taking Nat off ignore!).

In any case, Ingram is not a 4 -- he's played as a 3 so far but long-term... who knows? One thing: he played almost 2300 minutes as a 19 year old rookie. Last year, at 20, he played nearly 2000 minutes -- & he played much much better.
