Final predictions are due before the second game of the season.

Remember - you can have the same number of wins and still win by more accurately predicting the standings.

So who won last season, no one predicted 43? CCJ because predicted right seed?

Maybe I’m over thinking it, but want to wait to see if Miami trades for Butler before committing.

I was closest last season.

Odds say 46 games, with many picking "over" in the supposedly weak east.

Last season the east caught up with all but the top of the west, GS and HOU. Lebron is gone but that opens the floodgates for all to compete.

The east will be BETTER THAN LAST SEASON. Boston and Milwaukee are lots better. Atlanta made terrific free agent moves and Trey Young will be a dynamic playmaker. The Knicks and the Bulls are improving. Miami still has better coaches than Washington. Indiana has winners like Oladipo. Toronto has Leonard in a contract year.

Washington does not have Gortat to blame any longer. They have a poor defense and a dullard coach.

Looking at my previous predictions, I am just not a very optimistic guy. Well, why change now?
Wizards will win 38 games and back their way into the 8th seed.

Question: if we make a trade mid-season, will we get to do our predictions over again?

Hmmm, that is a great question. Not in previous years.

Guess it would be on agreement from everyone - maybe you can move up or down x wins?

It's too early for my final prediction, so don't put this on the list yet. But for now, I'm leaning toward 46 wins. This team has the talent to win 55 but I've never seen them play with consistent effort and discipline and I see no reason to assume that they'll actually do so this year. It's the same coach and the same star players; and the new rotation players (Howard, Green, Rivers) are not known for being any more consistent than the outgoing players (Gortat, Scott, Frazier). I'm giving them a few extra wins because the bench is a bit better, and I'm assuming Wall will be healthier.
